Andrew Bynum’s Hair Inspires Chia Pet Jokes

Andrew Bynum may be sitting on the sidelines at the moment due to an injury, but, thanks to a new hair cut, the Philadelphia 76ers star has managed to keep himself in the spotlight. Unfortunately, it’s not exactly the type of attention he wants.

Bynum’s new haircut has become the big joke of the NBA with several people saying that he looks like a real life Chia Pet.

Sports Nation writes on Twitter: “Andrew Bynum’s hair is slowly transitioning from ‘Don King’ to ‘Chia Pet.’ ”

According to Yahoo Sports, Bynum has been sidelined since September with a knee injury. Bynum isn’t expected back on the court until 2013 so the 76ers star has plenty of time to perfect his look.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Bynum has drawn ridicule for his fashion choices. The Score even has a ongoing column that tries to determine of Bynum is in costume or not.

But it isn’t all bad news for Bynum. The good news is that Bynum was able to distract fans from the 76ers loss to the previously winless Detroit Pisons on Wednesday night.
