Bigfoot experts and enthusiasts believe that 2013 could be the “Year of the Bigfoot,” according to the official press release from Facebook/FindBigfoot (FBFB).
With the popularity of Animal Planet reality series Finding Bigfoot, the legendary creature is more popular than ever before. Jack Barnes, Chief Video Analyst for FBFB, believes that the existence of Sasquatch and its ilk could happen at some point next year.
Barnes believes the availability of digital cameras could mean that Bigfoot’s days as a myth are drawing to a close. The chief video analyst cites recent footage of the creature eating food at campsite as being a perfect example of technology’s usefulness in hunting Sasquatch.
“What’s so amazing about this new video is how close the Bigfoot is to the camper’s tent,” Barnes explained. “A Bigfoot usually maintains maximum distance from humans, but this one couldn’t have been more than 25 feet away.”
He added, “With all the mobile phones and video out there, we’ve seen a spike in the quantity and quality of Bigfoot submissions. We want to celebrate 2013 as ‘The Year of Bigfoot’ to remind people that each video submitted helps our community to learn more about these amazing creatures.”
Bigfoot sightings have been numerous over the past few months. The legendary creature reportedly gave some Utah hikers a good scare earlier this month. The group thought they were filming a bear hiding in the woods during their recent trip through the wilderness. When the beast raised up on two legs, the hikers realized they had stumbled across something else entirely.
“But when it stood up and looked at us — and we assumed it was a bear up to that point — but, when it stood up and looked at us, it was this massive animal. We don’t know what it was. I mean, none of us believe in Bigfoot, so … we’ve talked about it over and over again since Monday when it happened and all of us are positive that thing wasn’t a bear,” hiker Beard Card explained to FOX 13
Do you think 2013 will be the Yeah of the Bigfoot?
