McNeil Recalls Children’s Liquid Tylenol Products On Fear Of Contamination

Washington, D.C (AHN) – Certain liquid Tylenol products for children and infants are being recalled because of possible contamination.
Manufacturer McNeil Consumer Healthcare issued the voluntary recall because of potential contamination of raw materials used to produce the products. The company said in a statement that analysis of the finished product did not find any bacterial contamination.
The recall affects Children’s and Infants Tylenol liquid products manufactured during a three-month period between April and June 2008.
Children’s Tylenol Meltaways and Junior Strength Tylenol Meltaways are not part of the recall.
McNeil identified specific lot numbers in the recall. Lot numbers are located on the bottom of the product box and on the sticker surrounding the bottle. Recalled lot numbers can be found at www.Tylenol.com or by calling 800-962-5357 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time Monday through Friday.
