Michael Vick May Sit For Remainder Of Season

Michael Vick could be done for the season.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, who suffered a concussion during Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, is expected to sit next week against the Washington Redskins. Vick suffered a “pretty significant concussion,” according to coach Andy Reid, and probably won’t be cleared to play next Sunday.

The Eagles will use Nick Foles next Sunday and could keep the rookie at the quarterback position for the remainder of the season. Eagles fans have been unhappy with Vick’s performance this year and this may be Reid’s chance to sit Vick on the bench.

Reid said:

“Michael is hurting right now, and Nick is going to step in and be the quarterback until that point comes (when Vick is cleared), and then we take it all from there .. I can’t predict the future. (Foles) is going to practice Wednesday. Preparation is very important. We’re going up against a good football team, the Redskins, another NFC East rival in a loud place. It’s important that he has the silent count down; that he has the fundamentals down, and he knows the game plan. I don’t see Michael being back by Wednesday.”

If Foles performs well he could become the Eagle’s starting quarterback.

A source told Yahoo Sports:

“I’m 99 percent sure that’s exactly what you’re going to see happen … Andy is going to go to [owner] Jeff [Lurie] and [general manager] Howie [Roseman] and say, ‘Let’s go with Foles and make the transition to the next era.'”

Do you think Michael Vick has played his last game for the Philadelphia Eagles.
