Why does the Google logo have two L’s?

Google logo changes are often cryptic, and this one is no different.

It seems that in honor of Google’s 11th birthday, they’ve creatively misspelled the logo. No official word has come yet on the official Google blog or Twitter, but according to Mashable, Google has celebrated their official birthday on both the 7th and 27th of September, “depending on when people feel like having cake.”

Let me be the first to say happy birthday to Google. Without their safe search turned off, my nightmares would be a lot less interesting and far less perverse. Want to know more about Google? Click here for additional information on the internet’s searchiest website!
