‘WWE Raw’ Results: Two ‘Fastlane’ Matches Booked And Samoa Joe Vs. Roman Reigns

While SmackDown LIVE prepares for their Elimination Chamber PPV on Sunday, the focus of this week’s Monday Night Raw was Goldberg’s response to Brock Lesnar (as well as his challenge to Kevin Owens) and Samoa Joe’s Raw debut match against Roman Reigns. The update regarding Seth Rollins and his knee injury was vague at best, and it’s possible that Rollins will have to miss his second consecutive WrestleMania thanks to the sneak attack from Samoa Joe last week. The Monday Night Raw roster will be making a stop at WWE Fastlane 2017 before ending up in Orlando for WrestleMania 33, and the PPV started to take place throughout the most recent episode of Raw.

NOTE: The WWE Monday Night Raw results were updated here in real-time as the show aired live, along with available video highlights and commentary. Any updates to the upcoming WWE Fastlane 2017 card were posted here as well.

WWE Monday Night Raw Results

The following includes the results of all the matches and segments from WWE Raw on February 6, which aired live from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. In the final week of 2016, Raw lost the “ratings war” with the blue brand for the first time since the separate rosters were established. However, SmackDown LIVE hasn’t won again since the new year. Will Goldberg’s response to Brock Lesnar — and an update on Seth Rollins’ injury — be enough to keep Stephanie and Mick’s winning streak alive against SmackDown LIVE on Tuesday nights?

Samoa Joe signed Raw contract — Foley booked Reigns vs. Joe and Reigns vs. Strowman

In the opening segment of this week’s Monday Night Raw, General Manager Mick Foley gave a half-hearted introduction for the newest Raw roster member, Samoa Joe. After cutting an in-ring promo and signing his contract in front of Foley and Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, they were interrupted by Roman Reigns. Moments later, Foley booked Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe for the WWE Raw main event.

Later in the show, after Strowman’s match, Foley would officially book Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman for WWE Fastlane 2017.

Nia Jax defeated Bayley

Having already defeated Sasha Banks on multiple occasions, Nia Jax moved on to Bayley, who fell short when she challenged Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women’s Championship at Royal Rumble 2017. While it looked like Bayley was about to win via count out, Charlotte came to the ring and distracted both Bayley and the referee, allowing Jax enough time to recuperate, return to the ring, and put Bayley down for a three-count.

Braun Strowman defeated four enhancement talents

Returning to the gimmick he had prior to feuding with Sami Zayn, Braun Strowman wrestled in a Handicap Match that he easily won before getting on the mic and complaining about his competition. As noted above, Foley found Strowman backstage and told him that he would be facing Roman Reigns at WWE Fastlane 2017.

Akira Tozawa defeated Drew Gulak

Making his Monday Night Raw debut six days after his 205 Live debut, Tozawa defeated Drew Gulak. After the match, he was greeted by The Brian Kendrick, who will likely feud with Tozawa after Tajiri was recently injured.

Goldberg interrupted Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho

As Jeri-KO were cutting an in-ring promo about the idea of headlining WrestleMania 33 with Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho for both of their titles, they were interrupted by Goldberg. He was there to accept Brock Lesnar’s challenge for a match at WrestleMania (as expected) and also challenged Kevin Owens to a title match at WWE Fastlane 2017 (as expected). Y2J accepted on behalf of his partner, and the main event for Fastlane was made official.

Incidentally, both Tom Brady and Goldberg were added to the List of Jericho during this segment.

Gallows & Anderson defeated Sheamus & Cesaro by disqualification

As Cesaro and Sheamus were granted a rematch for the Raw Tag Team Championship, Enzo and Big Cass decided to provide guest commentary. Of course, the heel champions got in the face of the color commentators, a physical confrontation ensued, and the match was awarded to Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows by disqualification. Since Sheamus and Cesaro can’t be blamed for the loss, it seems likely that they’ll get another shot at the titles.

Seth Rollins injury “update”

The only real information provided about the Seth Rollins injury was the information he released via social media. The injury is legitimate and it’s still unclear exactly how long he will be out of action.

The New Day defeated The Shining Stars

It’s hard to go up after being the longest reigning tag team champions in WWE history. Having had their fair share of title success, what will The New Day’s focus be from now on? They got a victory over The Shining Stars, but it’s unclear what kind of program they’ll be working next.

The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express were announced for the WWE Hall of Fame

Joining Kurt Angle, the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2017 during WrestleMania 33 weekend in Orlando.

Chris Jericho defeated Sami Zayn

Chris Jericho (with Kevin Owens in his corner) successfully defended his United States Championship against Sami Zayn. That means the potential for Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho in a Title vs. Title Match could still happen at WrestleMania 33.

Austin Aries and Neville were interrupted by several 205 Live superstars

Continuing to stay active while injured, Austin Aries asked WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville who he feared most of his potential title contenders. As he was explaining that he feared none of them, they all came out one-by-one to say their own piece. That included Cedric Alexander, Noam Dar, Jack Gallagher, Tony Nese and TJ Perkins, all of whom will be competing on 205 Live for a chance to be named the new No. 1 contender.

Cedric Alexander, TJ Perkins and Jack Gallagher defeated Noam Dar, Tony Nese and Neville

After a commercial break, all six members of the 205 Live roster were involved in a Six-Man Tag Team Match. One day before the Fatal Five-Way Match to determine the new No. 1 contender for the Cruiserweight Championship, the good guys got the win as Alexander scored a pinfall.

Samoa Joe defeated Roman Reigns

Although it took a pre-match sneak-attack and an in-match distraction, Samoa Joe won his debut as an official member of the Monday Night Raw roster. Braun Strowman made his way to the ring during the match, causing just enough of a distraction for Reigns that Joe got the upper hand and the victory. Post-match, Strowman’s beat-down on Roman continued until WWE Raw went off the air.

The above WWE Raw results have been corroborated by WWE’s official Monday Night Raw page.
