The JVC Picsio GC-FM1 debuted this week and it’s a nice looking pocket camcorder that’s poised to take on the Flip series of devices.

The GC-FM1 features an 8MP still photo sensor that records video at 2.03MP, while offering 1080p output at a 4:3 ratio with 30 frames per second recording.  The unit also features H.264 (AVCHD) format support and an SDHC card support.

For quick playback and viewing the unit also features a 2-inch LCD screen along with an HDMI output for the best possible video resolution output currently available.

Adding to the package is the Media Browser LE software which allows users to quickly create DVDs from their footage and upload videos directly to YouTube or transfer them to an iTunes account. [via Electronista]
