Since reportedly splitting with teen icon Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez has largely escaped the media spotlight that inevitably shines on an unexpected celebrity breakup. The singer was spotted one day after the split looking quite somber as she caught a plane at LAX.

The Biebs has gotten the lion’s share of press out of his breakup with Gomez: He addressed the breakup in a recent interview, sang Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me A River” during a show, and even reportedly has a new girlfriend. Though the Biebs has been busy, Gomez seems to have only boarded a plane since the split, though she looked plenty sad while doing so.

Head down and eyes shielded by sunglasses, Gomez boarded a plan for the Big Apple from LAX November 10, and that’s about all we’ve seen of her, reports MSN.

“Selena broke up with Justin about a week ago. It’s been a really challenging experience over the last year because of their crazy schedules,” an insider told Us Weekly of the split. “Selena definitely had some major trust issues with Justin.”

We don’t know what these “trust issues” entail, but one source doesn’t seem to think that the split will last for long.

“They are [young] . . . it changes from day to day. Right now it is a break and tomorrow it could be back on knowing them . . . it’s hard to say how they will end up,” the source says. “Maybe she feels more serious about it this time. We’ll see.”

The couple were together for nearly two years, though they have had their on-and-off periods during that time. Additionally, they have been swamped more than most with breakup rumors and speculation.

    Knowing the press, it could be just a "publicity stunt" like some celebrities date for publicity, they could be breaking up for publicity!

    First she isn't sad about the break up she's been wanting to do this for awhile now.
    Selly has her head down and sunglasses on just like she always has when going to the Airport she also didn't want the attention she isn't Justin who graves attention all the time.
    Now to take from a song Selly's friend Taylor Swift They will never ever geting back together never.
    People say it was there schedule it wasn't their schedule it was the fact that Selly couldn't take it anymore with Justin's Anger problem and also his ego. Justin thinks his better then anyone else and he needs to be humbled to realize his not better then everyone else but that he is the same as all of us a human male that can fail and succeed just like everyone else but when others succeed they know that they can fall just as easy.

    Hmm , FORREAL they shouldn't get back together. She really didn't like him… I think she dated him so noone else could have him , and I think she done found someone new & she probally got mad about him grindin on NICKI , lmfaooo. But if she did love him , she woulda held in people last YEARS with long distance relationshipss.. sooo. Hmmm?

    Why would they need publicity when as soon as they are seen out somewhere it's in the news. They don't need to fake break up to get publicity they already had all the attention they needed and Selena didn't want.
