Malia’s first day on the job was Jan. 30. She is expected to be there through the spring season. Already, there’s evidence that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Malia Obama’s internship in New York comes as no surprise. At the start of Barack’s second term, the president and first lady sat down for an interview with People and spoke about the next four years. Mrs. O said Malia had expressed an interest in filmmaking and was pursuing colleges that supported her possible career aspirations.
Malia is on a gap year from Harvard University where she was accepted for admission after graduating from high school recently. She’s set to enroll as a freshman in the fall, but it’s unclear how she will juggle her school and career goals or just focus on academics for the time being.
