Boys Football League Dominated By … 9-Year-Old Girl [Videos]
Who says girls can’t play football with the big boys?
Sam Gordon, 9-years-old, is taking the internet by storm today with her mad football skills. She’s a running back in the Gremlin Division of mostly 9-year-old kids in the Salt Lake City area. This just isn’t some video of a cute kid making a touchdown. This girl can game.
Her record, per YardBarker: 232 carries, 1,911 yards, 8.2 yards per carry, 35 touchdowns.
Wow.
You might have caught 9-year-old Gordon on Good Morning America today, but, if not, you have a chance here to see a handful of videos that are being passed around on the internet.
The videos show the 60-pound, 9-year-old girl running roughshod over boys her age in a variety of sizes, leaving them in the dust across the football field. A testament to her viral fame is a video posted below, made by Gordon’s father, which is sitting above 2 million views on YouTube.
This isn’t a sexism thing either. It’s not that Sam Gordon is just a good girl football player. She’s better than most boy football players.
“When she was about 3 or 4 years old and we would play soccer out in the yard with my older son … and they’d try to be a little bit rough with her and even intentionally try to kick the ball at her and she wouldn’t be fazed and would keep getting up,” Gordon’s dad said. “I kind of had an idea that she’s got an aggressive mentality back then.”
She got a cool nickname out of the deal too. They call her “Sweet Feet.”
