Evernote 5.0 Released For iOS, Offers Better Sharing, Sleek UI And Zoomable Maps

Evernote users with an Apple iOS based device can now download and use Evernote 5.0. The new update brings with it an improved user interface and more focus on “ease of use features.”

The new Evernote 5.0 update is available for iPhones, iPads, and iPods that are currently running iOS 5.0 or later.

Among the platform’s new features is quicker access to notes, notebooks, tags, and other features directly from the user’s home screen.

The company has emphasized the fact that users can now take advantage of more Evernote features with fewer screen taps.

Users can also now create new notebooks directly from the Notebook list. Notes can also be displayed on a zoomable map and notebooks can be shared among users at the creators request.

According to Electronista:

“On the iPad, Evernote has added notebook stack support in Notebooks view and a list of recently viewed and edited notes.”

Also included are several bug fixes.

As always, Evernote is a free down download and can be grabbed in the iTunes App Store. The program does require a 25.8MB download, so we would suggest a Wi-Fi connection.

Here is a quick look at Evernote 5.0 and its new, sleek user interface:

I particularly enjoy the zoomable map feature which allows geotagged notes to be examined in a new and interesting way. Survey takers, field technicians, and other workers who need to show notes for certain areas should in particular find zoomable maps useful.
