Olympic Snowboarder Shaun White To Undergo Alcohol Treatment, Drunken Charges Will Be Dropped

Shaun White is headed to alcohol treatment after he took on some serious Olympic style drinking in September. White was arrested in Nashville after he reportedly walked around the wedding of Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney with a handle of vodka. White then headed out into public where he suffered from a bruised-face and an even more bruised ego. White was also accused of trashing his hotel room in the midst of his drunken stupor.

In order to have his drunken disorderly and vandalism charges dropped, Shaun White agreed to pay damages and attend alcohol treatments classes.

The classes must be completed by January 25, 2013 if White hopes to have all charges officially dropped from his record.

Shaun was quick to apologize for his actions. The day of his release from jail White told his supporters that he made “unwise choices” and got “carried away.” White wrote:

“I want to apologize for the unwise choices I made over the weekend and for any inconvenience it caused my family, friends, business partners, the hotel and their guests. I was celebrating a happy occasion with a ton of family and friends and got carried away. I’m truly sorry for my poor behavior.”

Shaun White is a gold medal winner in the halfpipe competition for the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics.
