Kristen Stewart Talks Walking Away, Guessing Games And Sneakers

Kristen Stewart took a leaf out of Robert Pattinson’s post scandal interviews and kept her personal life close to her chest on the Today show this morning.

Faced with hosts Savannah Guthrie, Matt Lauer, and Natalie Morales, a casually dressed Stewart batted away an “are you back together with Robert Pattinson?” query from Guthrie, replying:

“Funny you mention that. I’m just going to let people watch whatever little movie they like to think our lives are and go for you know. Keep ’em guessing, I always say.”

Given Stewart’s surprise Monday visit to the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live to watch Pattinson being interviewed, her evasion today will likely be seen by some as a bid for column inches just before The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2’s big debut.

Or maybe this 22-year-old is — understandably — simply wary after a summer of pejorative headlines and molten, online opinion.

Stewart did get a chance to talk about letting go of her movie character, Bella Swan.

“I’m okay walking away but at the same time I could keep it for another five,” said the actress.

Sharing her take on Bella’s journey in the massively successful Twilight Saga series, she added:

“Fear is a funny thing when you’re that age — it’s — it can be a motivator, it can cripple you, and Bella’s always been the type of person to – once one of those walls are broken down she doesn’t try to build them back up.”

Later, that same morning on Live with Kelly and Michael, the actress pulled off a burnt orange Victoria Beckham cocktail dress and joked about a room “devoted” to sneakers in her new downtown L.A. pad.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 hits theaters on November 16.
