Miley Cyrus Secures Restraining Order Against Jailed Stalker

Miley Cyrus wants more protection from her jailed stalker and has secured a new restraining order against him.

The 19-year-old singer was terrified when her stalker, Jason Luis Rivera, broke into her home in September brandishing a pair of scissors. Even though Rivera is still in jail, Cyrus fears that she will be in danger if he is released early and obtained a restraining order against him, reports MSN.

The 40-year-old stalker was sentenced to 18 months in jail after being arrested at her home for trespassing and resisting arrest. Cyrus filed for the restraining order on Tuesday, and it was temporarily approved by a Los Angeles judge within hours of being filed, reports MStarz.

The new restraining order states that Rivera must stay at least 1,000 yards away from Cyrus at all times. A hearing has been scheduled for later in the month to determine whether or not the make the restraining order permanent.

Cyrus, for her part, has refused to move from her home despite the terrifying incident in which a scissor-wielding Rivera attempted to enter her gated mansion claiming to be her husband. After Rivera was seen jumping the fence and banging on Cyrus’s door, a neighbor called police, which led to Rivera’s arrest.

A source previously said the following:

”She doesn’t plan on moving from her home and will not allow crazy people ruin her life. When she is home, she has her own security team that she trusts and is confident they would protect her. She will not be affected by the incidents that have happened recently at her house. She is relieved that no one was injured and hurt but moving is not an option.”
