Jeff Goldblum’s Stalker Arrested For Violating Restraining Order

Actor Jeff Goldblum’s stalker has reportedly been arrested for violating a restraining order, according to Perez Hilton.

Linda Ransom was picked up by police on Friday evening after she decided to catch a performance of Goldblum’s latest play. By showing up at El Lay’s Ahmanson Theater while Goldblum was on stage, the woman effectively violated the order of protection. As a result, Ransom was placed under arrested.

The Los Angeles Times reports that 50-year-old Linda Ransom is required to stay at least 100 yards away from the actor at all times. Hanging around in front of the theater put her in direct violation of the restraining order.

The suspect was later booked at the East Los Angeles sheriff’s station. Her bail was set at $20,000.

According to Gossip Girls, Jeff Goldblum received a restraining order against Linda Ransom three years ago after he caught the woman following him around on more than one occasion. To make matters worse, she began showing up at his theater performances in both Los Angeles and New York City. Clearly concerned about his safety, Goldblum took legal action.

The actor is currently lending his talents to director Sam Gold’s Seminar at the Ahmanson Theater. Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck, the story follows a literary figure teaching a private course to a handful of budding writers. The role was reportedly originated by Harry Potter co-star Alan Rickman.

“I love this material, Theresa Rebeck is a brilliant playwright,” Goldblum explained. “This piece of material is wonderful and its challenging and needed all my studying. I like to study anyway, so I got some students and some teachers that I work with and I started to work with it every day and we started to put it on.”

Here’s hoping Jeff Goldblum’s stalker will finally leave the actor alone.
