Kirstie Alley Admits That John Travolta Was One Of The Greatest Loves Of Her Life

Kirstie Alley revealed that John Travolta was one of the greatest loves of her life during an interview with Barbara Walters. The pair starred in the Look Who’s Talking movie series together in 1989.

Travolta’s good-looks and charm made him a heartthrob during the late 1970s when he starred in Saturday Night Fever and Grease. Alley admittedly was not immune to the actor’s ability to attract women, but quickly noted her passion went unrequited, according to Radar Online.

Alley told Walters that she and Travolta, 58, came very close to hooking up, but she squelched her desires because she was married to actor Parker Stevenson at the time.

The 61-year-old actress also stated that her attraction grew for John Travolta as the two made the Look Who’s Talking sequels, CBS News notes. He went on to marry actress Kelly Preston. The couple had three children together.

The former Cheers star had this to say about her feelings for Travolta:

“Believe me, it took everything that I had, inside, outside, whatever, to not run off and marry John. And be with John for the rest of my life.”

When asked why she did not attempt to run off into the sunset with the man she had such strong feeling for, the twice-divorced actress had this to say:

“Because I feel like when you marry someone you’re supposed to work hard at it, and you’re supposed to make it work.”

Although the pair never ventured beyond the platonic, they did allegedly form a strong bond and remain friends to this day. Both Kirstie Alley and John Travolta are members of the Church of Scientoloy.
