Singer Leonard Cohen Collapses During Spain Concert

Valencia, Spain (CNS) – Canadian singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen has been rushed to the hospital after collapsing on stage during a concert in Valencia, Spain on Friday. He has been released and is said to have been recuperating for his next gig on Monday.
The singer, who turns 75 Monday, was performing “Bird on the Wire’ about half an hour into the show when he fainted. After kneeling several times through the song, he fell over during a saxophone solo, according to witnesses.
His band immediately stopped playing and rushed to help him.
Cohen was treated by the stadium’s medical staff before he was taken by ambulance to Nueve de Octubre hospital. He was discharged in the early hours of Saturday.
A band member told the shocked crowd that the singer suffered stomach complaint.
Cohen is said to be well enough for his Barcelona concert this Monday.
