Gators Hold On Inside Swamp, No ‘Rocky Top’ For Tennessee

Gainsville, Florida (AHN) – The top ranked Florida Gators held off the Tennessee Vols 23-13 Saturday afternoon inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Tim Tebow rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown.

The game was hyped last December when Tennessee’s newly hired head coach Lane Kiffin said UT faithful would enjoy singing ‘Rocky Top’ all night long after beating the Gators.

Florida used the words as motivation, but the game was closer than experts predicted.

However, Florida’s defense limited UT to 210 total yards of offense.

The win was Florida’s 13 straight. Jeffery Demps scored on a seven-yard touchdown carry and the Gators kicked three field goals.

Montario Hardesty rushed for a 17-yard touchdown for the Vols, but quarterback Jonathan Crompton threw two interceptions.
