‘The Voice’ Season 13: Viewers Threaten To Boycott Miley Cyrus Before New Season Even Begins

The Voice viewers are already threating to boycott Miley Cyrus once again, this time on Season 13 of The Voice, more than nine months before the upcoming round of shows is even set to start airing on NBC.

Following the Season 11 finale of the series, a number of angry fans took to Twitter to make it clear that they plan to boycott Cyrus on the upcoming round of shows, which are set to follow Season 12 in the second half of 2017.

“@NBCTheVoice although Cyrus has cleaned up her act on The Voice, until she becomes a [role] model again for young girls. I boycott the voice,” Twitter user @Disk2Legacy wrote of his plans to boycott Miley on The Voice, while @ScaryClown3 recent wrote of Cyrus, “#Boycott Miley Cyrus #Dobetter #NBC the voice whose advertising should see this.”

“Boycott [The Voice] until the s**t taken off show, Cyrus. She is disgusting,” @138Curtis claimed of Miley, and The Voice fan @fashionpolice52 recently wrote on the 140-character site, “@NBCTheVoice PLEASE DO NOT bring back [Miley] I will join all the other who plan to boycott if [Blake Shelton and Adam Levine] are not there.”

Notably, some The Voice fans claims that they’ll continue to boycott Miley on the show come more than nine months before Season 13 is set to air, but shortly after NBC announced that Cyrus would be skipping out on Season 12 and instead returning to her red revolving chair in Fall 2017.

Paul Telegdy, President of Alternative and Reality Group at NBC Entertainment, recently confirmed that The Voice coaching panel would be undergoing a shakeup for Season 12 in a statement issued to E! News earlier this year, in which he confirmed that Cyrus would be absent for first half of 2017 and instead returning for Season 13 as Gwen Stefani is set to take over Miley’s chair alongside returning coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Alicia Keys.

“We can’t wait to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake, and Adam will bring to season 12,” Telegdy revealed in the statement. “With Miley returning for season 13 we’re truly ecstatic about the unmatched musical know-how and talent coming together in our coming seasons.”

NBC are still yet to reveal who will be joining Miley on Season 13 amid some fans’ call to boycott, though rumors have been swirling that the second series of 2017 could actually see a pretty huge shakeup when it comes to who Miley will be sitting alongside on The Voice coaching panel next year.

Though Adam and Blake, who will have appeared on all 12 seasons of the show once the next round of shows wrap in mid-2017, have not yet spoken out about the chances of them continuing on for their 13th string of shows with Miley, Radar Online recently alleged that there’s a chance both could quit the show alongside Gwen rather than sitting alongside Cyrus again.

“Both Adam and Blake feel that they have run their course as judges,” an insider revealed of the veteran coaches’ future with the show, alleging that Shelton and Levine could potentially quit The Voice next year and take Gwen with them.

But while The Voice fans will have to wait and see who returns to sit alongside Miley Cyrus on Season 13, rumors are swirling that Cyrus could actually be doubling up on her The Voice duties in 2017 as sources are claiming that Miley’s name has allegedly been thrown into the mix as a potential new coach on The Voice Australia.

Australian news source News.com.au alleged earlier this year that “industry chatter” is suggesting that Miley is allegedly in the running for a gig on The Voice Australia, as the site claimed that producers of the show “are seeking a big international name” to sit alongside Seal, Boy George, and Delta Goodrem and revealed that Cyrus is supposedly “is top of the list” to head down under.

Miley has not yet commented on the rumors and it’s not clear how or if Cyrus’s potential new gig on The Voice Australia could impact her commitments to The Voice in the U.S., though Cyrus made it pretty clear following the Season 11 finale earlier this month that she’s looking forward to returning.

Cyrus made it pretty clear that she had every intention to return to the U.S. version of the singing show in 2017 on Instagram, as Miley captioned a shot of herself with her fellow The Voice coaches on December 14, “Can’t wait to be back for season 13!!!! What AWESOME artists do you think will be on #TeamMiley the next time around!?!?! I can’t wait to find out!”
