Gwen Stefani’s New Songs Allegedly Shade ‘Third Wheel’ Miranda Lambert, Who ‘Misses’ Blake Shelton
Gwen Stefani’s divorce from Gavin Rossdale and Blake Shelton’s split from Miranda Lambert turned into a romance story made for television, with Gwen and Blake finding love when they were both coaches on The Voice. Both Stefani and Shelton also released new music and opened up in interviews about going through the pain of a divorce only to find happiness after the heartbreak. Now, Miranda has dropped her own new album, and according to several new reports, it’s causing trouble when it comes to Gwen and Blake.
Lambert “is finally getting the last word,” In Touch told readers, claiming that after her “painful” split from Shelton (who “happily” rebounded to Stefani), Miranda has gotten “her revenge” in her new album, The Weight of These Wings. As for how Gwen feels about Lambert’s music? A friend of Lambert’s speculated to the media outlet.
“Gwen has got to be devastated by what a modern country masterpiece Miranda’s made.”
Moreover, Lambert’s pal claimed that the praise for Blake’s ex-wife’s album has caused pain for Stefani.
“With Miranda’s album making news like this, it’s a constant reminder of Blake’s past with another woman — and how she’s just on an entirely different level than Gwen,” added the friend.
However, Lambert’s success when it comes to her music is a contrast with a new report from Hollywood Life, which cites a source claiming that Miranda is missing her ex-husband Blake.
“Blake [Shelton] is like a big Santa Claus when during Christmas, filling everyone’s lives with joy and happiness,” said the insider. “Miranda [Lambert] is happy in her own life but she can’t help but miss Blake during the holidays.”
The source described Shelton as “a larger than life presence” in Lambert’s life, noting that “it’s definitely hard to replace that when it’s gone” and describing Christmas as “an emotional time for her.” Miranda and Blake were married for four years, and Lambert allegedly just broke up with her boyfriend, Anderson East.
Miranda’s and Anderson’s relationship lasted about a year, but “reportedly fizzled out in December — right before Christmas! — because Anderson could tell that Miranda still had some lingering feelings for her ex-husband,” according to Hollywood Life. However, Lambert recently tagged East in a photo on Instagram on December 4.
As for how Gwen Stefani feels about Blake’s ex-wife at this point, In Touch reported that Gwen has decided “to get revenge” on Miranda for her new album, The Weight of These Wings, citing a source’s allegations about how the 47-year-old plans to throw shade at Lambert.
“Gwen is ready to unleash some very personal songs about Miranda being the constant third wheel in [her] life.”
And it doesn’t stop there. The insider also claimed that Stefani has “written several songs in which she calls Miranda out for just giving [Blake Shelton] up so easily,” linking the reason to Gwen’s alleged perception of Lambert’s album as a “direct shot at her and Blake.”
“She had really tried to take the high road, but that is over,” added the source. “Miranda won’t see it coming, and that is what Gwen is counting on.”
Sources also told Celeb Dirty Laundry that Stefani is seeking to have a “showdown” with Lambert.
“[Gwen] hates the fact that Miranda has been singing about her heartache and divorce drama and simply wants her to stop.”
The insiders also claim that it’s possible Stefani is “jealous” of Lambert’s successful album, noting that although Gwen and Shelton “heavily promoted their albums,” they experienced “very little success in sales.” In contrast, Miranda’s album has taken flight, with The Weight of These Wings at the top of the charts. The sources allege the success of Miranda’s album is “bothering Gwen the most.”
