Steve Burns Finally Reveals The Real Reason He Left ‘Blue’s Clues’

Everyone was shocked when Steve Burns left the show Blue’s Clues. This family favorite show was one that children loved to watch and enjoyed Steve on it. He was replaced by a man named Joe, but nobody ever really knew the reason that he chose to go. Now The Huffington Post is sharing the details about why Steve Burns actually left Blue’s Clues so many years ago.

Steve Burns was on the series Blue’s Clues for about seven years, and nobody could imagine the show without him. In 2002, he left the show and nobody ever heard what happened. Of course, rumors flew, but for the first time Steve Burns is speaking out about why he decided it was time to move on. One big rumor was that the star from Blue’s Clues had died in various ways. Steve is now sharing saying, “I Googled the conditions of life, and I meet every single one of them, I can assure you. I am certainly alive. I know that for sure.” He is still doing well.

The main rumor that flew was that Steve Burns left to work on his music career. Everyone heard him sing on the show, but this wasn’t the kind of career he wanted. Now if Steve had become a famous singer, everyone would know that so obviously that isn’t what happened for him either. He actually does have a new children’s album coming out, which is called “Foreverywhere.” He did it along with Steven Drozd of the Flaming Lips. Now he is saying that isn’t true either. He said, “That’s actually not true. No, no, no, no. People think I left the show to pursue a music career. That didn’t happen at all.”

So what was the real reason that Steve Burns left the series Blue’s Clues? Well, it turns out that it had to do with getting older and losing his hair. He didn’t want to continue to be on television this way. Here is what he shared.

“I left the show because it was just simply time to go. I was pretty much playing a boyish, older-brotherish kind of character on the show. I was getting older; I was losing my hair; a lot of the original gangsters on the show, like the people who created it, were all moving on to other careers. It just felt like time. I just had a gut feeling like it was time to go.”

It turns out that since his time on Blue’s Clues Steve Burns has done some voice over work. You might hear his voice on television and recognize him. Nobody recognizes him anymore, and he has to convince them that he really was the guy who used to play Steve on Blue’s Clues. He also shared one big argument people have had over the years. Yes, Blue and Magenta are both girls regardless of what you might think. That is a mystery that has finally been solved.

Snopes has an entire section dedicated to if Steve Burns really died from a heroin overdose. This big rumor was from back in 1999, but other rumors have come up since then. Luckily, Steve is still alive and doing well. Nobody is really talking about Joe from Blue’s Clues, but you never know where he will turn up next either. This show was a favorite of children everywhere.
