Facebook now supports login with user name

fb username login

Normally we wouldn’t report on a minor change at Facebook, but today we’re making an exception because now you can login to Facebook using your username.

The (perhaps long overdue) login support for user names comes after the implementation of Facebook pages based on usernames earlier this year. Facebook users will still be able to log in with their email address, however remembering that Facebook doesn’t support username logins (something I’ve done previously) is now officially a thing of the past.

The official spiel from the Facebook blog:

We just wanted to add a more convenient way to access your Facebook account. A username gives you an easy-to-remember web address for your Facebook profile so your friends can more easily find and connect with you. If you don’t have a Facebook username yet, you can choose one here.
