Kelly Ripa For The Holidays: The ‘Live’ Co-Hosts Wrapping Up 2016
Kelly Ripa’s co-hosts will be ending the year with a bang on ABC morning show Live with Kelly. In a co-host continuation of the past seven months, Ripa’s rolling parade of celebrity co-host guests will be on hand to enliven the Christmastime stretch as Live with Kelly wraps up 2016. As advertised during the popular broadcast and on Live with Kelly’s Instagram, returning celebrity co-host guests like actor Christian Slater and singer Michael Buble will be making the morning TV rounds with Kelly in the latter days of 2016. Also joining Ripa in a co-host capacity for the year’s final fortnight will be frequent Live visitor and Party of Five dude Scott Wolf, comedians Kevin Hart and John Mulaney, and On Air host Ryan Seacrest.
Richard Curtis, the Pennsylvania high school music teacher who won Ripa’s recent “Live with Kelly and You” contest, will also make a returning co-host appearance to cap off December. Fans of Live with Kelly appear to have enjoyed the newcomer enough to warrant a few reprising co-host spots from the Souderton High educator. Could Curtis possibly be poised to become Kelly Ripa’s long-term Live broadcasting partner?
As longtime Live with Kelly viewers are now painstakingly aware, Ripa’s seemingly endless display of part-time, fill-in co-hosts began in May with the sudden exit of her former small screen foil, Michael Strahan. Strahan jumped ship to help co-host rival ABC morning show Good Morning America, and reported tension understandably ensued between the one-time TV duo. Since then, frequent Ripa co-host guests such as newsman Anderson Cooper, actor Jerry O’Connell, and even The Wonder Years star Fred Savage have been floated by media outlets as possible Live co-host contenders. As previously covered by the Inquisitr, Kelly Ripa’s TV host peer and Fox News personality Megyn Kelly co-hosted Live with Ripa last month. In her post-Election Day appearance, Megyn reportedly brought a significant ratings boost to the program, following a supposed drop in the show’s viewership after Strahan’s departure. Megyn Kelly’s pairing with Ripa followed the recent reveal of her published harassment allegations against former Fox CEO Roger Ailes.
