‘Coffee With Ivanka’ Auction Pulled From ‘Charity Buzz’ Website After Hitting $72,888 In Bids

It isn’t the first time that fans of Ivanka Trump have been offered a chance to have coffee with Ivanka, but this most recent Ivanka coffee invite has become controversial. As reported by the Inquisitr, Donald Trump’s website offered coffee with Ivanka back in September, at Trump Tower. That “Meet Me for Coffee – Trump Make America Great Again Committee” page is still live, with the “Coffee With Ivanka Trump” representing more of a random contest opportunity to have coffee with Ivanka.

However, a more recent auction of having coffee with Ivanka, as seen on the Internet Archive page titled “Enjoy Coffee with Ivanka Trump in NYC or DC,” shows that the Charity Buzz website had gained up to $72,888 via 28 bids prior to the page being removed. The Charity Buzz page is still available, as of this writing, through the Google Cache of the page. But, as reported by NPR, the original Charity Buzz page showing the coffee with Ivanka auction currently redirects to the Charity Buzz homepage without explanation of why the page was changed to do so.

Perhaps it was the New York Times article titled “Available to the Highest Bidder: Coffee With Ivanka Trump” that made the Trump Family think twice about auctioning off time with Ivanka. The publication notes that Eric Trump told the New York Times that he mulled over shutting down the auction’s bidding after the publication spoke with him about ethical concerns of auctioning off coffee with Ivanka.

The original verbiage of the auction page that attempted to sell time with Ivanka drinking coffee began with an estimated value of $50,000 to have a cup of java with Ivanka. It listed her position in the Trump Organization as an Executive VP, noting Ivanka’s accomplishments as a company leader. It also mentioned her Ivanka Trump Collection brand, and her IvankaTrump.com website, before delving into more of Ivanka’s educational and personal accomplishments.

“[Ivanka] graduated from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. She wrote the New York Times bestselling business book, The Trump Card: Playing to Win in Work and Life in 2009 and her next book, Women Who Work: Redefining the Rules for Success is coming out March 2017. Ivanka has been included on Fortune magazine’s prestigious ’40 Under 40? list and was honored as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Ivanka married Jared Kushner, fellow entrepreneur, real estate developer, investor and owner of The New York Observer in 2009. The couple have three children, Arabella Rose, born in 2011, Joseph Frederick, born in 2013, and Theodore James, born in 2016. In her free time, Ivanka enjoys traveling, cooking and tending her garden with her children.”

The original auction page noted that folks who wanted to get in on the auction selling off time with Ivanka were required to have authorized credit cards when bidding. That credit card would have to pass muster in order to participate in the auction, a verification process that could take up to two days, claims the Charity Buzz website. Additional information on the planned coffee with Ivanka event noted that it would take place at a period of time during 2017 — based on Ivanka’s availability. It was also scheduled to occur in Trump Tower in NYC or Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. — once again, revolving around Ivanka’s schedule. The coffee date with Ivanka would have lasted from 30 minutes to 45 minutes and was a private meet-and-greet session that allowed the winner to take a photo, but not request Ivanka to sign anything.

The Secret Service would have been present during the coffee with Ivanka, and polite manners were expected to be displayed by the winner of the auction.
