NASCAR Releases 2010 Schedules

Daytona Beach, FL (AHN) – NASCAR released the schedules for its three majoring touring series and just like this season the 2010 campaign will begin in February in Daytona and end in Homestead in November.
The Daytona 500 will kickoff the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season on Valentines Day and the season-openers for the NASCAR Camping World Truck and Nationwide Series will begin on Feb. 12-13 respectively.
The Cup season will have 36 points races and two all-star non-points races the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona on Feb. 6 and the May 22 Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte.
Cup’s annual stop in Indianapolis will be on July 25 for The Brickyard 400 and the cut-off race for The Chase will be held on Sept. 11 at Richmond International Raceway.
The Nationwide Series will see a 35-race schedule and the Truck Series will follow the 25-race schedule, but will have a new stop that includes a July 31 stop at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa. The Pocono event replaces a previous event at Auto Club Speedway in California.
A minor change for the Cup series is that Daytona 500 qualifying will be held the same day as the Budweiser Shootout, which previously was contested the night before qualifying.
