Brad Pitt: From A-List Family Man To ‘Tormented’ Outsider, What Went Wrong With Angelina And The Family?

Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie were the ultimate star couple. Not only were they talented onscreen performers, with the looks of a Greek god and goddess, but they spent their time contributing to various efforts and charities around the world while raising their brood of adorable children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne,

The latest rumors state that there was truly a reason for the speculation that Brad and Angelina were heading for divorce over the past year, due to new claims that the two had already been separated for years. A flurry of allegations swirled that Brad and Angelina were living separately leading up to September when Angelina announced she was filing for divorce. Before this, there were also allegations of an affair between Brad and his Allied co-star Marion Cotillard. Marion has stamped that fabrication out herself.

If it wasn’t infidelity on the part of Brad that led to a possible estranged marriage over a year ago, what led the couple to call it quits after 12 years and for Pitt to become so alienated from his six children? In the spring, there were various reports that stated the couple did not agree on where to raise their children and parenting styles. Additionally, rumors swirled that Jolie was ready to change up her career focus entirely and leave Hollywood behind, instead opting to take more of an active role working with the United Nations, supporting and giving aid to the refugee crisis. Additionally, the Inquisitr reported in June that the beauty wanted to reside in London and involve herself in British politics.

“The latest rumored news is that Brad is annoyed by Angelina’s latest ambitions to leave Hollywood behind and lay down roots in Britain. The human rights activist even reportedly wants Pitt to sell their French chateau, Chateau Miraval in France, so she can become a tax-paying British resident and enter into British politics.”

At the time these claims were made, it seemed that tabloids and media were simply fishing for a story and pitting the couple against one another. All the while, there was in fact trouble brewing, and by September 19, Angelina Jolie was not holding any punches. Did arguments over the raised concerns cause the spat on the private jet? The spat that caused Brad to become angered and lunge at son Maddox, who was standing up for his mother?

Following this very incident, Jolie filed for divorce and announced she would seek custody of all six children for their own interest. Additionally, an abuse investigation was launched against Brad from which he has been cleared. Jolie still insists that Pitt is to be tested for drug and alcohol use four times monthly.

The most recent news, as the Sun relays, is that Brad will only be allowed four hours with his children on Christmas Day, even after requesting in court to have more time with his kids. Angelina has given in to this small amount of time so that Pitt can deliver gifts to his children, but he must leave before the afternoon. A source shared details about the situation and how Pitt feels “tormented” by being separated from his children over the holidays.

“She doesn’t have the heart to refuse to let him see the children over the holidays and they would probably never forgive her if she did.”But Brad is going to have to use every ounce of his acting skill when he arrives with their presents and put on a brave face to mask the torment he’s going through over spending so little time with them.”

Although both stars stated they were working to make things less traumatic for the children, the divorce and custody battle has not gone smoothly, and Jolie even refused Pitt’s request to seal their court documents to protect the children, as BBC noted. Although the divorce filing has been focused on one incident on a private jet, clearly there were an array of issues that were plaguing the couple over the years which finally came to what they are now — estranged and at war.
