Rob Kardashian And Blac Chyna Breakup: Couple’s Very Public Split Revives Rumors That The Relationship Was Fake All Along

Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna broke up in a very public way this weekend, but the split has revived rumors that the couple’s relationship may have actually been fake all along.

On Saturday night, Rob posted a series of Snapchat videos showing his empty house after Blac Chyna left with the entire contents of the nursery.

But the news of the breakup for Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian had some questioning whether their relationship was ever real. Many fans shared their doubts on social media.

For several months, there had been sources close to the Kardashian family saying that the relationship between Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna was all a ruse in order to draw more attention to the family and their reality television empire. Back in October, an unnamed source told In Touch Weekly that the couple faked their relationship in order to profit from a new reality television series, which came with a big payday.

“Rob had agreed to have a fake relationship with Chyna because his momager, Kris Jenner, got E! to pay him over $2 million to do a show,” the source said at the time.

But the source went on to say that Rob Kardashian got cold feet and decided he didn’t want to go through with it, but was too far into it to turn back.

“It would be too humiliating. The lie has gotten so out of control, there’s no turning back,” the source said, noting that Rob had been turning down all the chances to do publicity for the reality television show.

Blac Chyna had a different view, the report noted, and was hopeful to snatch up some of the fame the Kardashian family enjoyed.

“She wants to make millions from endorsement deals,” the source said of Blac Chyna, who at the time was still pregnant with the couple’s baby. “She’s desperate to be as famous as Kardashians.”

While it’s not clear if there is any truth to the rumor that Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna faked their relationship, Chyna did appear to follow through on plans to glean fame from being a Kardashian. Earlier this year, she filed legal documents to change her name to Angela Kardashian — and to trademark the name.

As Hollywood Life noted at the time, Blac Chyna appeared to be motivated primarily by money.

“In the legal document, obtained by TMZ, Blac moved to trademark the name for entertainment purposes. This means that she’ll get major dough for what she’s already doing, but now she’ll get to do it as a Kardashian. Her purposes for the trademark: live, televised and movie appearances, conducting parties, and personal appearances as a model, actress, performer, and social media celebrity.”

But the Kardashian sisters — Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe — filed legal documents to stop Blac Chyna from profiting off their family name, Popsugar noted.

And there were other potential signs that the relationship between Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna may have been fake all along. Until the birth of their child, it was reported that Rob and Chyna had been living separately. It was a living arrangement that was supposedly the result of tension between the couple, but the Daily Mail reported that it may have actually been arranged on purpose.

“On their E! show, Rob is kicked out of Chyna’s home after she suspects him of texting other women. He then sets up house in the mini mansion Kris Jenner already bought him earlier this year.

“The move seemed like it would be temporary, but Us Weekly has claimed it has not been.

“‘They think it’s a healthier way to live,’ said a source. It was added that they are fighting less now that they do not share a bed.”

And the Kardashian family has been accused of faking relationships in the past in order to bring more attention to their reality television empire, especially when “momager” Kris Jenner is involved. For many years, there have been rumors that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are in a fake marriage (including a 2013 report from Hollywood Life), though these have been supplied mostly be anonymous sources.

While there is no indication on whether Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna actually had a fake relationship, it appears that at least their breakup is for real.
