Nadya Suleman Checks Into Rehab For Prescription Drug Addiction

Nadya Suleman, also known as the Octomom, has reportedly checked herself into rehab, according to TMZ. Her 14 children will stay with a handful of nannies for the next 30 days.

Reports indicate that Suleman will spend about a month seeking treatment for Xanax addiction at the Chapman House Drug Rehabilitation Center in Southern California. The prescription drug was given to the celebrity mom in order to deal with the stresses of her daily life.

As for her children, TMZ reports that all 14 of her offspring will be looked after by three nannies and two friends. Suleman’s parents have not been asked to assist their daughter with childcare duties.

“Nadya wanted to get off the Xanax she was prescribed by her doctor and learn to deal with her stress, exhaustion and anxiety with professional help with a team of doctors. Nadya wanted to deal with her issues and make sure she is the best mother she can be,” the Octomom’s representative explained.

It’s also being reported that, while Suleman can pay for her treatment thanks to the surprising success of her recent porn career, the rehab facility offered to treat the mother of 14 for free.

Nadya Suleman’s trip to rehab is the latest chunk of controversy to land in the middle of her hectic and storied life in recent weeks. Towards the beginning of October, the Octomom decided to address several allegations of child abuse levied against her by a few nannies.

“None of the allegations are true. This is a woman who became obsessed with the children and contacted me to help her write a book. Her and the other women claiming to be a nanny also are good friends with each other and are trying to make money,” she explained to Radar Online.
