Nicole Kidman On How Keith Urban ‘Carried’ Her After Her Father’s Death

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban continue to cause major relationship envy due to the manner they gush and dote over one another as well as support each other during the toughest seasons of life.

Kidman recently spoke about her country star hubby while promoting her latest film Lion. The actress gushed about the immediate “chemistry” she and Urban had and 10 years of marriage later, they’ve still got it.

Nicole also shared about how he lovingly supported her through life following the death of her father, while speaking on CBS Sunday Morning. “We just had chemistry,” she said of meeting Urban in 2005.

“I never underestimate the power of chemistry.”

The award-winning actress went on to note how Urban completely dropped everything to be by her side after her father, Dr. Tony Kidman, passed away in 2014. ET relays her words.

“I knew at some point that was going to come. But boy, when it comes, it’s — it lays you out. It laid me out. I was like, ‘I don’t even know how to get up from this.'”

She went on to relay how she immediately called her husband “screaming and crying” after she had received the tragic news.

“He was about to go onstage, and he walked offstage and he got on a plane. He had just gotten there. He flew six hours, and he was right back there. And he literally picked me up and carried — pretty much carried me through the next two weeks. And that, to me, that’s a marriage, and that’s love. And I’m so grateful to have that. And I also had, you know, my children going, ‘It’s going to be all right, Momma.'”

The couple share two adorable daughters, Sunday Rose, 8, and Faith Margaret, 6, and Kidman also shares two adopted children with her star ex-husband Tom Cruise, Isabella, 23, and Connor, 21. Kidman reveals how her daughters from her current marriage are growing up as true southern belles in Nashville, Tennessee.

“They say, ‘y’all,'” Kidman laughed.

The full interview on CBS is to air this Sunday. The beauty, as noted, is currently promoting her recent film Lion within which Kidman plays a role that she was easily able to identify with. The film is based on a memoir by Saroo Brierley, A Long Way Home. Kidman plays an adoptive mother to Brierley, who sets out to discover his heritage and roots.

Nicole acts opposite Dev Patel, known best for his performance in Slumdog Millionaire. Patel also recently shared how he easily identified with the role he portrayed in the film that is already getting critical acclaim. CBC recently shared his words about being a part of the film.

“Every young actor would dream to play a role like this. And especially for me, a young Indian dude from London, this stuff doesn’t come around everyday It’s truly special and I knew that when I read it, I just was allowed to explore a space and embody a character that is far, far away from the usual cliche that we get thrown. In every way it broke the mould for me.”

The film made its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival to great reviews. Unfortunately, the absence of Keith Urban at the red carpet event caused rumors to swirl that he and Nicole Kidman were on the rocks in their relationship. Yet, it is clear that those claims were all fabricated and both Kidman and Urban state that Keith was simply busy performing hours away from Toronto and simply could not be at his wife’s side. The two are usually present at all events for one another which is why the absence of Urban caused rumors to swirl.
