Model Alexa Chung Awkwardly Shimmies And Shakes To Nelly In ‘Love’ Magazine’s Advent Calendar

Model Alexa Chung made an appearance in Love magazine’s annual Advent calendar for day 17 on Saturday. The 33-year-old shimmies and shakes in her minute long video while wearing red lace panties and a matching bra. She starts off by telling the camera she “loves love” almost as much as she loves Christmas.

“Now? Oh my God, I love ‘love’ almost as much as I love Christmas. It’s unparalleled.”

Alexa is seen with shifty eyes as she speaks to the camera, which makes for an awkward first shot. She wears a bold red lipstick and minimal makeup as “Hot in Herre” by Nelly begins playing. She dances around the video, which was created by Liz Collins, before stretching out on the floor and showing off her backside.

Fans can’t help but notice how forced and awkward the model appears to be throughout her shoot. Instagram users shared their opinions on Love’s post, saying it looks like Alexa really doesn’t want to be doing this.

“This made me feel awkward and was cringe-worthy to watch.”

While others were not impressed with her dance moves.

“That hand fan is just so awkward.”

However, Chung does have some loyal fans who despite not enjoying the video, still thought she was cute.

“She’s so bad. Hahaha but it’s Alexa so it’s just cute.”

The comments calling the video “cringe worthy” outweigh any positive responses Alexa’s performance received, but she did get a few compliments from Instagram users. One person called her “fierce” and another said she was “glowing” in the video, but that summed up the good things people had to say. It seems the magazine may have dropped the ball with day 17.

However many negative reviews are from fans, Alexa does seem to have a cheerleader in the Daily Mail. The site wrote rave reviews about her Love piece, calling it “seductive.” The site also brought up the fact the model is on the thinner side as she flaunted around in revealing lingerie.

“She is has always been known for her slender model physique. And Alexa Chung was sure to show it off in all its glory on Saturday as she took centre stage in the next video installment of Love magazine’s Advent calendar. “

Daily Mail also seemed to enjoy her dance moves as they applauded her effort.

“The fashionista, 33, stripped down to a sexy set of red lace lingerie and danced around seductively to the sounds of ‘Hot in Here’ (sic) by Nelly for the new festive clip.”

Despite viewers— fans or not— calling Chung’s advent video awkward, the article called it “raunchy” and “intense.” So far, it seems the general public doesn’t agree with Daily Mail‘s observations.

“Putting on an incredibly raunchy display, the Brit is seen saucily shaking her hips and crawling across the floor – showing off her incredibly long and lean legs as she gazes intensely into the camera.”

Alexa’s day comes after fellow model Chrissy Teigen made an appearance for day 16. Teigen replicated an ’80s workout video as she wore a leotard and leg warmers while doing workouts. She’s seen doing push-ups as she eats fries and sit-ups with a hot dog in hand. Fans were on the fence about Chrissy’s video, with some commenters leaving a thumbs down emoji. However, most viewers enjoyed the fact it was relatable in comparison to the previous days.

The previous two weeks feature the likes of Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Ciara, and Kim Kardashian. All of the women star in some sort of fantasy set— some more than others. However, they all have one thing in common and that’s lack of clothing and killer bodies as they show off for the camera.
