Dorit Kemsley Defends Lisa Vanderpump: Does She Think Eileen Davidson Overreacted?

Dorit Kemsley is brand new to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and it sounds like she is already enjoying her new co-stars. Dorit decided to invite all of them to her 40th birthday party so she could meet everyone. Kemsley already knew Lisa Vanderpump before joining the show, and some people believe that Lisa campaigned to get Kemsley on the show so she would have someone in her corner. For a long time, Vanderpump considered leaving The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills behind because she felt attacked by her co-stars. But she may have planned on returning if she could get her friend Dorit on the show with her.

According to a new Bravo report, Dorit Kemsley is now revealing that she enjoyed having all of her friends at her birthday party, including her brand new co-stars. While she did know some of the ladies, she did have to meet some of them for the first time. But Dorit Kemsley enjoyed that the drama was kept to a minimum out of respect for her and her husband, PK.

“It was great to have all the ladies attend. I was so pleased everyone could make it, especially as I’m new to the group. I didn’t know if they would all come, but it was lovely they did. I was a bit surprised when Erika showed up in a very casual dress, given the invite said to dress in formal attire, but maybe she didn’t see that. After my initial surprise on the night, I later thought who cares and each to their own. For me the night was about having fun together and that’s what matters,” Dorit Kemsley explained on her Bravo blog, adding that she had a blast at her own party with the ladies.

In her blog from last week, Dorit explains that Lisa Vanderpump had told her about the drama from last year. Of course, Kemsley and Vanderpump are friends, and she relied on Dorit Kemsley for support. At the time, Vanderpump may not have realized that Dorit would be on the show with her, so Dorit may have some preconceptions about her co-stars. But it sounds like she wants to give everyone a chance to prove to her that they are good people.

When Dorit Kemsley invited all of the ladies to her birthday party, she knew that Lisa Vanderpump had tensions with the other ladies. And she knew that Vanderpump may say a thing or two that could rattle her co-stars. Interestingly, Dorit Kemsley was present when Lisa made the comment about Eileen’s husband being up someone’s skirt, and she admits that it was racy. However, she didn’t think it was something to get too bothered about.

“I know tensions were also a little high with LVP and Eileen. I was there when LVP made the comment to Eileen about her husband, and it was a bit of a racy thing to say, but I get it. It’s that British humor that I hear from my husband and our friends all the time. It’s not for everyone, but it’s not meant with harm. I’ve learnt to jump back in with a quick comment or response that plays into theirs, and we all laugh it off. It’s a cultural thing that doesn’t always translate well over here,” Dorit Kemsley explained on her blog about Lisa’s British humor, revealing that her co-stars shouldn’t take the comments so seriously.

What do you think of Dorit Kemsley’s blog about her new co-stars? Do you think Vanderpump crossed the line with Eileen Davidson by making a comment about her husband, even though it was meant as a joke?
