Pentatonix began winning over audiences with their unique sound when they appeared as contestants on the NBC show The Sing Off and won the show in 2011. The group consists of Scott Hoying, Mitchell Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Avi Kaplan, and Kevin Olusola. The group became widely known through their official YouTube channel, which has more than 12 million subscribers, and began releasing covers of Christmas classics and modern music each holiday season. Many of Pentatonix covers would go viral and became in high demand. Known for their impeccable harmonies and outstanding solos, Pentatonix has amassed a huge fanbase and many are anticipating a great Christmas special this evening. Tonight’s A Pentatonix Christmas Special marks their first network special for the holidays. You may see some videos from Pentatonix on The Sing Off below.

Pentatonix has released three Christmas albums, and the group hosting a Christmas special is a perfect combination. Viewers will be delighted with a heartwarming show that includes phenomenal performances of many Christmas classics. Pentatonix’s newest Christmas album, A Pentatonix Christmas, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. In addition to Pentatonix’s musical performances, tonight’s show will include guest performances by Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, and Kelly Clarkson.

Releasing Christmas albums and gearing up for holiday TV specials isn’t the only way Pentatonix gets in the holiday spirit. If you visit the official Pentatonix website, you’ll find that you are actually entering Pentatonix Holiday Village. The website is decked out with a complete holiday theme including stores, a bakery, a holiday theater, and more. It’s a wonderful way for fans (known as Pentaholics) to get their Pentatonix holiday items in a fun and lively manner. The Pentatonix holiday theater is where fans can go and view new, official videos released for the holiday season. Pentatonix’s current video release is a cover of Kanye West’s “Coldest Winter.” You may see that video below.

During tonight’s A Pentatonix Christmas Special, fans will see the newest video “Up on the Housetop,” as it will be released for its premiere debut during the show.

Pentatonix won two Grammys for their performances of “Daft Punk” and “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.” Those Grammy wins were in 2015 and 2016. Continuing their trend of award-winning music, Pentatonix and Dolly Parton were nominated for the 2017 Grammys for their collaboration of Parton’s award-winning song “Jolene.” You may see those videos below.

It is unclear what song Dolly Parton will perform with Pentatonix on tonight’s special, although many fans would be quite content to hear “Jolene” live, even though it’s not a Christmas song. Pentatonix and Dolly Parton did perform “Jolene” live on the Voice with Miley Cyrus. The official video for Pentatonix and Dolly Parton performing “Jolene” has been viewed more than 18 million times on YouTube. You may see the performance below.
