Kanye West In Top Secret Meeting With Donald Trump, Will Kanye Perform at Trump’s Inauguration?
For what seems like the longest time, we have been seeing reports about Kanye West revolving around exhaustion followed by his much-publicized hospitalization afterwards, but he appeared in fine form today when he visited Trump Tower this morning to pay a visit and meet with Donald Trump.
The New York Times reports that journalists were so stunned at seeing Kanye West’s visage in the lobby of Trump Tower that they all frantically fumbled for their phones in order to document this strange sight on Twitter.
What might Kanye West have been doing meeting Donald Trump this morning? In characteristic form, Kanye remained fairly mute on the subject but did seem as though he was enjoying the attention as he fought to hold back a smile when Trump was speaking to reporters with him.
When reporters asked how the two men knew each other, Donald replied that they had been “friends for a long time.” The question that then followed revolved around the objective of Kanye West’s meeting with Trump. What might they have discussed? Without missing a beat, Donald Trump’s reply was simply, “Life. We discussed life.”
One question members of the public are probably keen to know is whether or not Kanye West plans to perform at Donald Trump’s January inauguration. It certainly wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility. When that very question was put to him, Kanye would only shyly say that he just wanted to “take a picture right now.” However, it is worth mentioning that Donald Trump has featured prominently in Kanye West’s music before, most notably in the lyrics to “So Appalled,” in which Trump appears as a character that is feverishly intent on stealing everyone’s money. It is unlikely that he would be performing this song at the inauguration.

Both Kanye West and Donald Trump would have known that their meeting would cause mass hysteria in the press, with every news outlet in existence all exhausting every possible list of contacts in order to be the first to reveal the true motive behind West’s visit. No one has had such luck yet, however. The spokeswoman for Trump, Hope Hicks, will only say that it was Kanye that put forward the idea for the pair’s meeting today.
“The meeting was requested by Kanye and we were delighted to host him. They had a very positive and productive conversation.”
For Kanye West’s fans and the stupefied witnesses of this morning’s visit who may have been hitting update every 37 seconds on their Twitter account, they finally saw a Tweet from West. He explained that he had met with Donald Trump as he merely wished to discuss issues that he felt were of great importance to him, such as “multicultural issues, bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums and violence in Chicago.”
“I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.”
Perhaps Kanye West was also gathering his own evidence as to what constitutes political life these days when he met with Donald Trump. He did give an impassioned speech last year in which he stated that he would also like to run for president, perhaps in the year 2020, he thought.
What did Kim Kardashian think about today’s unlikely visit between Kanye West and Donald Trump? Us Magazine reports that an “insider” tells them that she doesn’t appear to have any problem with it.
“Kim knew Kanye was coming on this trip. She’s not surprised by this. Kim knew that Kanye supported Trump before this. Kim and Kanye definitely differ on their opinions. Obviously, she voted for Hillary. Kanye respects the idea that Trump was able to speak to a group of people in the country that had been largely forgotten by the media. He looks at Trump as a celebrity who is able to influence the greatest office in the world, not as a politician.”
Today’s meeting between Kanye West and the President-elect Donald Trump seem to have ended on a good note, with Trump bidding Kanye a fond farewell and telling him to take care of himself, followed by “I’ll see you soon.” So will we all be seeing West performing at Trump’s inauguration? It may sound strange. But so, after all, is the idea of a meeting between Donald Trump and Kanye West and yet it still happened today.
