‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7: Will Daryl Dixon Change In Second Half? Norman Reedus Reveals ‘TWD’ Spoilers

The Walking Dead Season 7, Episode 8 aired last night on AMC. The midseason finale was an excellent and emotional episode. Now that those who watched the zombie apocalypse series know what happened and who died, what can be expected in the second half? Norman Reedus went on Talking Dead to discuss his character, what he went through at the Sanctuary, and if he will change when the show returns next year.

TWD spoilers are ahead. Do not continue reading unless you want to know what to expect.

As fans know, Daryl Dixon escaped the Sanctuary thanks to a mystery person who slipped a note underneath his door. The identity of the individual who left it was not revealed. However, it was most likely Dwight’s former wife, Sherry (Christine Evangelista), who is now one of Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) wives. At first, he was hesitant. Was it another trick or was this really his chance at freedom? Norman Reedus’ character finally took the opportunity, beat Joey to death, and encountered Jesus (Tom Payne), who brought him to Hilltop for an emotionally charged reunion.

Following The Walking Dead, Norman Reedus appeared on Talking Dead with Austin Nichols, who played Spencer Monroe, and TWD creator Robert Kirkman. During the episode, the crossbow-wielding character discussed what Daryl Dixon went through and what to expect in the second half of Season 7.

One fan wanted to know if Daryl will change based on his experiences at the Sanctuary. Norman confirmed that Dixon will be going through a lot when the show returns. Viewers need to remember that he still really hasn’t processed Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Abraham Ford’s (Michael Cudlitz) deaths. The character is also blaming himself for Glenn getting killed on The Walking Dead. In the back of his mind, he hopes that Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) can forgive him.

Reedus explained that Daryl Dixon will be going through a lot of psychological issues. Even though during past seasons he was a peacemaker, he won’t forgive Negan and the Saviors. In fact, he is ready to kick some major butt and wants to kill someone. This isn’t just because of what he went through at the Sanctuary, but for what Negan did to Glenn, Abraham, and the rest of the group.

As for why Daryl went crazy on Joey when he was trying to escape, Robert Kirkman explained some things about Dixon. The Walking Dead creator said Daryl tends to internalize things and at that moment, he wasn’t really in control of himself. After keeping calm throughout the seasons, the Sanctuary caused Dixon to snap. It goes to show just how much Negan got under Daryl’s skin, even though he was trying to remain strong.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, The Walking Dead Season 7 spoilers included Daryl Dixon remaining focused while in the Sanctuary. He was taking everything in, looking inside rooms, and being observant. Despite going through turmoil and torture by Negan and Dwight (Austin Amelio), he was paying attention to everything around him. That information will probably help Rick and the others when they battle the Saviors.

Other TWD spoilers revealed during Talking Dead include Morgan (Lennie James) and Carol (Melissa McBride) taking the same position. As fans recall, a soldier from The Kingdom wants to get rid of the Saviors as a preventable measure to protect the community. Both Morgan and Carol refused, but for different reasons. Even though they take the same position on The Walking Dead, Morgan and Carol are still on opposite sides.

Remember, Morgan and Carol have no clue what Negan and the Saviors have done to Alexandria. Hopefully, when Carol finds out, she will get back to her normal butt-kicking self. She has gone long enough isolating herself and refusing to fight. Fans want the old Carol back.

Regarding why Morgan hasn’t told Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) that he found Carol on The Walking Dead, it is out of respect. She doesn’t want anyone knowing anything about her. She wants to be left alone and is tired of being responsible for others lives and deaths. Carol does not want him to say a word, so he is respecting her wishes. Besides, Morgan likes The Kingdom and has a lot to do there.

What do you think of what Norman Reedus had to say about Daryl Dixon? The Walking Dead Season 7 returns with the midseason premiere on February 12, 2017.
