WWE News: Randy Orton Gives His Thoughts On Joining The Wyatt Family

When Randy Orton started his WWE feud with Bray Wyatt, it seemed like a bad idea and something that would hurt both wrestlers in the end. Randy Orton just lost a match to Brock Lesnar, where he was beaten into a bloody mess. Bray Wyatt developed a reputation as someone who couldn’t win feuds. They both needed a win and a loss by either of them seemed like a bad idea.

However, something magical happened, although no one saw it coming at first. Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt decided that they were stronger teaming together than feuding with each other and became a tag team. While some thought this was a bad idea, it worked perfectly. Now, Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt are the SmackDown Live tag team champions and are one of the most entertaining parts of SmackDown Live.

In an interview with Tom Clark’s Main Event, Randy Orton said that teaming with Bray Wyatt has refreshed his career.

“Right now I have a new pep in my step, I feel, because I’m working with guys that are fun to work with. This whole angle with The Wyatt Family, I’m really enjoying it. At first, I wasn’t quite sure, but now that we’re in the middle of it and me and Bray and Luke are tag champs, everything’s feeling right.”

Randy Orton also said that he is really happy to play a heel again, which is his favorite role in the WWE. Orton said he is so excited about this new direction that he is considering changing his ring gear to align more with Bray Wyatt’s look, changing something that Randy has never really changed since making his debut in the WWE almost 15 years ago.

One thing that Randy Orton points to when talking about his recent career direction is working with young wrestlers who are eager to learn and improve in the WWE. Randy points to people like Bray Wyatt, American Alpha, and Luke Harper as people he is working with right now who get it when he gives them advice.

Randy Orton also spoke about his career up to this point and how he has progressed. After making a slight dig at WWE creative by mocking the endless feud with Sheamus, Orton said this new gimmick has allowed him to feel better than he has in years.

“Wrestling’s in my blood. This is what I do. This is what I was born to do. I’ve got my own style. Yeah, I don’t do flips and s–t, but when it comes down to it, I know how to tell a story and that’s what I’ve try to get over doing. And being with the Wyatts now, that creativity, I feel a little spark. I feel lighter on my feet, like there’s a bounce in my step again working with these guys.”

Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt won the tag team titles at the WWE Tables, Ladders, and Chairs event and actually look dominant as a tag team rather than like heel-based cowards who only win by cheating. More than that, they also have a compelling story with Luke Harper almost on the outside looking in.

According to Wrestle Zone, the Wyatt Family will use the same “Freebird Rule” that the New Day uses so that Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, and Luke Harper can all take part in the tag title matches. This still looks like it will lead to a Randy Orton vs. Luke Harper feud over time, but for now, the Wyatt Family is the best thing going on WWE SmackDown Live in the tag team division.
