Philadelphia, PA (AHN) – Dr. Phil McGraw tackled suspended quarterback Michael Vick’s reinstatement in his show broadcast live for the first time ever from Independence National Historic Park in Philadelphia Wednesday.

The popular daytime talk show host boldly suggested that the controversial quarterback exhibits a “sociopathic adjustment to life”.

In the broadcast, held at a stage outside the Liberty Bell pavilion, McGraw also stressed that the former Falcons star signal caller is unlikely to ever acquire empathy.

In examining Vick’s reinstatement to the NFL, a panel was assembled composed of Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, J. Whyatt Mondesire, president of Philadelphia’s NAACP chapter and animal activist Tom Hickey, Sr.

Also in the panel were Joey Fortman, a Philadelphia radio personality, and former NFL player Beasley Reece, now a TV sportscaster in Philadelphia.

Also participating in the show was Eagles coach Andy Reid, who called in and reiterated his faith in the controversial quarterback.

Vick, who completed a 20-month sentence for a federal dogfighting conviction, was signed by the Eagles last month.

He was activated to the 53-man roster Tuesday in preparation for Week 3 after serving a cooling-off period meted by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Vick is likely to take the field when the Eagles play Kansas City on Sept. 27.
