NBA Trade Rumors: John Wall To Kings, Rudy Gay To Heat, And Goran Dragic To Wizards In Three-Team Deal

With the official deadline still a bit over two months away, NBA trade rumors will only continue to find their way online. In recent speculation, it’s been noted how Washington Wizards star John Wall and Sacramento Kings star Rudy Gay are both unhappy in their current situations. It’s also been mentioned how Wall and former Kentucky Wildcats teammate DeMarcus Cousins want to play together again. Could Wall somehow find himself a member of the Kings organization in the near future?

According to Sportsrageous in their recent trade speculation, the proposed three-team deal would also involve sending Miami Heat star Goran Dragic to the Washington Wizards. In addition, the Wizards would get Willie Cauley-Stein, Skal Labissiere, and some of the Kings’ future draft picks. Meanwhile, Rudy Gay and Darren Collison would head to the Miami Heat, and John Wall would get to join Cousins on the Kings roster. It seems like a deal that would benefit three squads that have been having trouble getting wins during their 2016-17 campaigns.

All three of the aforementioned teams are currently on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff picture standings. It’s just a quarter of a way into the latest NBA season, but the Heat, Kings, and Wizards all have losing records. Washington and Sacramento are currently at 8-13 while Miami is 7-15 which has the Heat among the bottom three teams in the Eastern Conference. It’s clear that all three squads will need to shake up their rosters or enter rebuild mode with hopes of some good upcoming draft selections.

The proposed trade would seem to help reboot the Wizards quite a bit with young talent as they’d receive the majority of the players in the deal. However, the star power would head to the Kings and Heat rosters with Wall and Gay switching conferences. Just the other night, Wall put up a 52-point performance in a losing effort, but imagine the possibilities if he was reunited with his former college teammate Cousins?

The Miami Heat have also been a team in a tailspin since losing Dwyane Wade to the Chicago Bulls during the offseason. Bringing in Rudy Gay would give them a new potential star to handle the scoring load. Gay currently averages 19.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, which would benefit many NBA lineups. With Chris Bosh sidelined, and the team consisting mostly of potential future stars, bringing an established veteran scorer to the lineup could help boost their success.

The biggest aspects of the trade would seem to be moving a few players off teams where they may not really want to be right now. There’s been talk that the chemistry between Wall and Bradley Beal in Washington is far from ideal, and that Wall may want a better situation. Rudy Gay has been part of NBA trade rumors for months now, as the NBA veteran seems to want to test free agency after the season. In the case of Goran Dragic, it seems as if he may not be the ideal fit for the Heat as they look to rebuild in the wake of their “Big Three” disbanding. He could possibly flourish alongside Bradley Beal and Otto Porter in the Wizards’ system.

Most importantly may be the fact that the Sacramento Kings could have trouble shopping DeMarcus Cousins due to his recent off-court controversy. This past week Cousins was involved in a New York City nightclub brawl which allegedly involved him and his teammate Matt Barnes assaulting a couple. Sporting News reported there’s a lawsuit being brought against the two players, and the incident may have caused Cousins’ trade value to take a big hit. With that in mind, Sacramento may decide to keep Cousins as the core of their franchise and bring in another star player such as John Wall to help make that playoff push.

NBA fans, what do you think of the latest trade rumors involving John Wall, Rudy Gay, and Doran Gragic? Would these three players be good fits for the proposed teams in the deal? Which team would get the biggest boost?
