American Airlines is urging travelers to take a second look at plans to fly in the next few days, as Frankenstorm shuffles its way toward the Eastern seaboard like a zombie in the form of weather, and the airline has issued recommendations for travelers flying in and out of certain cities.

American Airlines sent a tweet from its official Twitter account, warning travelers that the outlook regarding the clash of storms (including Hurricane Sandy) predicted to cause extreme weather conditions has prompted a more cautious approach to flying.

On Twitter, American Airlines had this to say about traveling during the days believed to be affected by the coming Frankenstorm:

“We’ve updated our Travel Policy for the Northeast due to Hurricane Sandy. Please check here for details: http://bit.ly/ALERTAA1“

Clicking through the link to American Airlines’ Travel Info page reveals a list of cities — which is lengthy — as well as a policy allowing travelers to revise their itineraries without penalty. The list of cities is as follows:

American Airlines has blocked out four travel days, with the caveat that tickets purchased before October 26 were not afforded the same ability to change. Travelers are given the option to change dates up to November 4 due to the projected path of Frankenstorm.
