Kardashian Sisters Declare War With Blac Chyna Over Name Trademark, Why They Think Their Brand Will Suffer

Blac Chyna is trying her best to capitalize on the Kardashian name. In the build up to her upcoming wedding with Rob Kardashian, the stripper turned model filed an official trademark for the name “Angela Renee Kardashian.” Unfortunately, the Kardashian sisters are having none of it.

TMZ reports that Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe are all against Chyna’s proposed name change. In fact, the Kardashian sisters believe that Chyna wants to change her name solely to profit on their trademark.

The reality stars filed official court papers to prevent Chyna’s name change. Given their turbulent history, the news is probably not going to go over well with Rob, especially considering what they wrote in the documents.

In their official statement, the sisters believe their name will “suffer damage including irreparable injury to their reputation and goodwill.” They added that Chyna is “deliberately seeking profit from the goodwill and popularity” of their household name.

The Kardashians have built their dynasty in the reality world with their hit series, Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Indeed, the family has relied heavily on their namesake for fame and fortune, so it makes sense that they would go after Chyna in full force.

According to Daily Mail, Chyna filed for the name change months before she had her first daughter with Rob. The couple welcomed Dream into the world back in November. Chyna has one other child from a previous relationship while this is Rob’s first.

Chyna’s birth name is Angela Renee White. In light of the union with Rob, Chyna was planning on launching a career in entertainment, including future movie and television cameos. She’s also planning on building up her image on social media and hosting parties with her new name.

Meanwhile, following the birth of her daughter, filming has resumed for Rob & Chyna. In fact, Chyna has reportedly lost some 20 pounds after giving birth and is looking trimmer than ever. Hollywood Life reports that an official wedding date has not been announced, though Rob and Chyna are expected to exchange vows sometime next summer.

Back in May, Rob took to social media to express his love for Chyna and their baby, writing, “I fell in Love with her immediately because of how great of a mom she is and now I’m looking forward to starting a Family with her! Thank You Chy for everything you do for me.”

It isn’t clear if the latest family drama will delay the wedding plans even further. Unless the Kardashian sisters change their minds, there’s a good chance that more drama is ahead.

Unfortunately for Chyna, it sounds like the Kardashian sisters are going to ruin her chances at using their name for fame. To complicate things, Perez Hilton reports that Chyna’s married name will be Kardashian once she ties the knot with Rob. There’s no telling if the Kardashians can stop Chyna from changing her name once the marriage is official.

Furthermore, it isn’t that surprising that Chyna wants to use the Kardashian name for her own gain. After all, the Kardashians have done the exact same thing over the years and have married into families for their own profit. As fans will recall, Kim wed Kris Humphries back in 2010 in a marriage that lasted a whole 72 days, and that’s after the ceremony was televised.

Rob and Chyna have not commented on the latest news regarding his family. Considering how filming for their reality show is underway, fans can expect some of the drama to play out next season.

Rob & Chyna is expected to return to E! sometime next year.
