NBA Trade Rumors: DeMarcus Cousins To Wizards, Bradley Beal To Kings With Other Players And Draft Picks?

The most recent NBA trade rumors have been revolving around Sacramento Kings star DeMarcus Cousins. While the Western Conference All-Star is considered one of the top big men in the league, his reputation has taken a hit lately due to some controversy off the court. However, there’s been one player who might be lobbying to bring Cousins on board to his team, the Washington Wizards. Is it possible that John Wall will help set up a deal involving current teammate Bradley Beal for a 2017 trade to land Cousins?

In a recent report, Sportsrageous discussed how Washington Wizards guard John Wall and Bradley Beal aren’t working out so well as a tandem for their team. Despite Wall going off for 52 points in a game against the Orlando Magic, the Wizards still fell 124-116. It was yet another defeat, making it three of their last four that went into the loss column. As of right now, the team sits at 7-13 and isn’t much of a factor in terms of Eastern Conference playoff teams. It’s been noted that Wall and Beal just “don’t like each other” and therefore “don’t get along” leading to troublesome chemistry issues.

Due to the issues, it seems the team will need to shake up their roster, and that could mean shipping Beal away to another squad. The quick speculation is that since Wall once played alongside big man DeMarcus Cousins, he is lobbying to have a reunion with his former Kentucky teammate. Sportsrageous contends that possibly the Wizards could deal Bradley Beal along with some other young players or future draft picks to help bring DeMarcus Cousins to the D.C. franchise. It would instantly set up another situation where a team has multiple All-Stars aligned in their starting lineup, although not necessarily a “Big Three.”

This sort of deal would not be able to be finalized until January 15, 2017, due to Beal’s contract he signed last summer. However, that’s just about a month away, giving ample time for the Wizards to put together an attractive collection of trade pieces to offer Sacramento. A big man like Cousins is the type of player who can help turn the right roster into a playoff team, and Washington seemed to be on the cusp of the postseason not long ago.

In previous NBA trade rumors report about Cousins, the latest controversy involving his off-court incident alongside teammate Matt Barnes was mentioned. The pair was allegedly involved in a New York nightclub fight in which Barnes was said to have hit and choked people, while Cousins also punched someone. The Kings big man was reportedly videotaped after the fight occurred and bragged about the incident. There’s now talk of a lawsuit being filed against the two Kings players, according to NY Daily News. Due to that sort of drama, it was noted how many teams might not want to gamble on a controversial player like Cousins for the future of their franchise.

However, with John Wall having played alongside Cousins at Kentucky, it’s likely he would be able to lobby to management to bring in the All-Star talent. There have been other NBA rumors suggesting a trade that would send Wall over to the Kings too, so that could also happen, should Wall decide he’s really unhappy with Beal and the current Wizards situation. One thing is for sure and that is both the Kings and Wizards look more like potential lottery teams rather than playoff squads. With that in mind, both of these teams will need to contemplate some major changes to try to get closer to a postseason berth or else enter rebuild mode for several seasons.

NBA fans, do you think DeMarcus Cousins is a good fit for the Washington Wizards? Should they send away Beal and some other players or picks to bring in the Kings star?
