Google rumor mill – Brightcove next target

brightcove

I guess all that money is starting to burn a hole in Google’s pockets because not only do we get word today that they’ve snapped up reCaptcha but they may have also set their sights on Brightcove.

According to Dan Frommer at BusinessInsider, who is following the breadcrumb trail of a Twitter message by PBS MediaShift editor Mark Glasser, Google is looking at a possible sticker price of $500 million to $700 million to buy the Web video provider.

Of course Google is staying mum with the typical “no comment” response to the news
