Katie Holmes Wants Suri To Grow Up ‘Without Too Much Of Hollywood,’ Not In A Rush To Get Married

Katie Holmes is not rushing to tie the knot with Jamie Foxx because she allegedly doesn’t want their romance to resemble a circus. Following the 37-year-old’s divorce from Tom Cruise, she and Suri are overwhelmingly happy, according to a Hollywood Life source.

“Katie’s life now, compared to back then, is like night and day — and she is so much happier! She has vowed never to allow her life to be lived under the media spotlight again, and Jamie is very happy with the way things are too.”

The divorce was a tough time for the Dawson’s Creek actress, who had to escape her former husband’s fascination with Scientology. While Katie was initially drawn to the religion, she realized that it might not be the best option for Suri. According to the publication, Katie and Suri are loving the simple and regular life. It’s a plus that Jamie treats Katie as if she is the world to him.

“Katie loves Jamie for so many reasons — he’s handsome, smart, funny and caring. As if that wasn’t enough he’s also so sweet to her, telling her how gorgeous she is constantly. He treats her like the most beautiful woman in the world. Jamie makes Katie feel incredibly sexy. It’s the most special romantic relationship Katie’s ever had.”

The Miss Meadows star worked on the new film All We Had as its director. It was her directorial debut, and at the end of the film, she acknowledged Suri. When asked about it by the New York Times, she said she wanted Suri to know that “she’s the inspiration behind everything.” She similarly talked about her parenting style.

“I try to make our world very much an environment that’s just all about being a kid without too much of Hollywood coming into that. And I just enjoy it. Honestly I think that there are so many books and opinions about how to be a great mom, and you have good days and bad days, and sometimes you do great and sometimes you could have done better. But I have to say I’m really enjoying having a 10-year-old. She’s a remarkable person.”

Meanwhile, Tom still hasn’t reconnected with Suri despite previous reports. Gossip Cop recently shunned the rumor that Tom’s sister has been quietly arranging Tom and Suri’s “secret” meetings with one of them allegedly happening in a quaint English village.

It has been years since the Top Gun actor was last photographed with his little girl. Various speculations have risen about his absence. First is his hectic schedule. In 2014, he worked on Edge of Tomorrow, which was followed by another Mission Impossible film. This year, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back was released, and while Mena’s release date was pushed back, his commitments haven’t stopped. Tom is now filming the Mummy reboot. Nonetheless, some cannot help but wonder if Tom can’t spare even just one weekend to see Suri.

Reports that Scientology is getting in the way are fairly common too. Katie was allegedly labelled a “suppressive person” by the church and it’s off-limits for Tom to interact with her. Former Scientologist Leah Remini once confirmed her and Katie’s state in an episode of Watch What Happens Live last year.

“The policy of the church is you can’t be connected to someone who’s committed a suppressive act, which I have. Katie has, per church policy. You can’t be connected to that. You have to shun that particular person,” she said.

Remini also talked about Tom’s “enormous power” in the church.

There are some who think that Tom is merely keeping Suri away from the public’s prying eyes. After all, it’s rare to come across photos of him with his other children, Connor and Isabella.
