‘One Piece’ Manga Chapter 849: Pudding Follows Lola’s Footstep, Angering Big Mom And Setting Stage For A Big Showdown Between The Yonko, Vinsmoke And Straw Hats Pirates [Spoilers]

Chapter 849 of immensely popular Japanese manga One Piece could get very emotional. While the previous chapter lived up to its promise of being action packed, mangaka Eiichiro Oda has ensured the upcoming chapter has some interesting emotional twists.

Each member of the Straw Hats gang is facing the danger of varying intensities, and the situation appears hopeless on Whole Cake Island for Luffy D. Monkey and his teammates. However, clues about last minute escapes are aplenty.

Chapter 848 of One Piece manga indicated Luffy and Nami remained completely immobilized in Big Mom’s “Prisoner’s Library,” trapped inside “Page 55.” While the duo was helpless, Pedro and Brooke were wreaking havoc within the castle. As promised, Pedro had caused a huge pandemonium in and around Big Mom’s “Treasure Room.” This gave Brooke to stand against a significantly diminished enemy.

Interestingly, Brooke managed to overpower the “Chess Barbarian Army” by playing soul music using his shark guitar. “The Soul King” knew the soldiers of the Barbarian Chess unit had souls forcibly inserted in them. These artificially animated soldiers were no match for his soul music. Incidentally, while Brooke proved to be an interesting warrior, mangaka Oda hasn’t confirmed if he succeeds in stealing the Road Poneglyphs for Luffy. Moreover, even if Brooke does steal the poneglyphs, Luffy is still languishing in Big Mom’s prison.

The news about the ruckus reached Bog Mom, who appeared concerned only about the little treasure box, called the “Tamatebako.” There has been no confirmation about what’s inside the box that once belonged to King Neptune; however, theories suggest there might be a high potency incendiary device or bomb.

In the earlier chapters, a bomb disguised as a box of treasure was sent over to Big Mom after the conclusion of the Fishman Island arc from Fishman Island. It is likely the box could contain a bomb that might explode. As Big Mom plans to open the box in front of everybody at the tea party, the ensuing commotion might offer enough time and confusion to the Straw Hats gang to make good their escape.

Interestingly, fans have been waiting impatiently to find out what Lady Pudding informed Luffy and Nami. In the previous chapter, Pudding had walked up to the imprisoned duo and informed them that Sanji had proposed to her. While the proposal of marriage made Pudding very happy, she knew the exact reasons Sanji was forced to accept the marriage proposal.

In the earlier chapters, Big Mom had made it amply clear that Pudding’s marriage was a political alliance, and had nothing to do with the matters of the heart. In fact, all the previous arranged marriages were deviously planned to expedite the Yonko’s journey towards becoming the pirate king.

It was Lola, one of Big Mom’s daughters, who had rebelled against Charlotte Linlin and had run away from her arranged marriage. This had angered the Yonko, who revealed she intends to send an assassin to murder her own daughter for causing a severe setback to her plans.

Lola’s actions might inspire Pudding, suggest fans. While Oda did not reveal what Pudding whispered to Luffy and Nami, he did confirm that she does not intend to see the wedding through. Hence it is quite likely that Pudding will orchestrate an elaborate escape plan for the Straw Hats gang. Since Sanji is already head over heels in love with Pudding, it is possible the Big Mom’s daughter might accompany the gang, but only until the edge of the Whole Cake Island.

Chapter 849 of One Piece manga is expected to be released without a break. Will Sanji accept Pudding’s decision? Will Luffy and Nami escape Prisoner’s Library? Has Brooke managed to steal the Road Poneglyphs? Hopefully, mangaka Oda reveals answers to these exciting questions in the upcoming chapter.
