Cynthia Bailey Divorce: Is She Upset About Peter’s Friendship With Apollo Nida?

Cynthia Bailey surprised everyone when she decided to file for divorce from Peter Thomas on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. It’s no secret that both Cynthia and Peter were hardworking people and put their careers first, but it sounds like Bailey wasn’t happy with Thomas’ decision to move the majority of his businesses to Charlotte, North Carolina, and relocate there without really talking to her about it. Before she filed for divorce, Bailey and her husband were living in different states and she admitted that they rarely saw one another.

According to a new Bravo report, Cynthia Bailey is now opening up about their divorce and she is surprised that Peter was so shocked about her decision to end their marriage. After the infamous Instagram video surfaced last year, Cynthia felt that she couldn’t trust her husband anymore. Peter could only laugh off her insecurities, but he didn’t think that they were talking about divorce. The cameras are still following Peter around and the producers captured a conversation between him and Todd Tucker, where they talked about their friend Apollo Nida, who is serving eight years behind bars.

I was not surprised to hear that Peter and Apollo kept in touch. I knew that they were in regular communication with each other, but I did not know how frequently they spoke. Apollo, Todd, and Peter are friends. Under the unfortunate circumstances, I would imagine that their friendship and support means the world to him,” Cynthia Bailey explains to Bravo about her husband’s friendships, sharing that it doesn’t surprise him that these two guys still stay in touch.

Both of them were married to Real Housewives of Atlanta stars and both wanted to create thriving businesses. But Apollo Nida chose the illegal route, creating various businesses under false names. He was charged with identity theft and fraud and he was sentenced to eight years behind bars because he already had a lengthy criminal record. But Cynthia Bailey reveals that she believes in her estranged husband and she believes he can make something great of what he has already established in Charlotte.

I always believed in Peter, and I still do. He is the reason I relocated from New York City to Atlanta. Throughout our relationship and marriage, my love, commitment, and support has stood strong. I did the best that I could do, and I am good with that. I am disappointed that Peter feels I didn’t believe in him, because it is absolutely not true,” Cynthia Bailey explains, according to Bravo, revealing that she is still friends with him even though they are going through a divorce.

On Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Cynthia revealed that she was selling their home because Peter wanted her to get rid of it. She was filming with her daughter as they went to look at another home. She would be the third housewife this season to move into her own home, as Kenya Moore moved into Moore Manor and Sheree Whitfield moved into Chateau Sheree after almost six years of building. And it sounds like Bailey already has an interesting name for her new home.

I named my new lake home Lake Bailey. It is my early birthday gift to myself. Lake Bailey is my sanctuary. My peace. This is the first time in a long time that I did something that was a 100 percent for me. I am in love!” Cynthia Bailey explains about her new home, revealing that she chose the home that was located on the lake.
