Angelina Jolie Files New Court Documents Regarding Custody Arrangement

Angelina Jolie has filed new court documents that reveal their child custody agreement with her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

Jolie filed the new court papers, which give a clear outline of the custody agreement between her and Pitt regarding their six children. An anonymous insider told People that the documents do not feature any changes from the original agreement that the former couple made almost two months ago. The documents presented by the Hollywood actress contain details explaining when Pitt will be allowed to see the children. This follows a high-profile divorce filing between the two in September.

“The original agreement is temporary and voluntary and that has not changed in the slightest; absolutely no binding agreement has been made, no final decisions have been made, and there is nothing that should be presented as a legally binding custody arrangement at this time. There is zero legal purpose for filing this. Zero,” one of the sources pointed out.

Another source concurred with the claim that the new court documents filed by Jolie did not feature any changes from the previous agreement. Steve Mindel, a CA family law expert told People that it was quite unusual that Angelina filed the documents. He then stated that most celebrities often seek anonymity. Another reason he felt that it was unusual was because the new documents reveal more about the schedules of their children. Mindel also added that the level of privacy and wealth is very vital for the safety of the children. Revealing more information through the documents puts them at risk because it offers more information to the public.

Mindel did not reveal the legal purpose of Jolie’s filing though he pointed out that she appeared to be sending a message to Pitt. According to the law expert, she wants the custody dealings to be handled on a more public level rather than handling them on a private basis. Mindel further adds that such an approach is not good for them, especially considering their celebrity status.

Angelina filed the documents on December 2. The conditions on the documents state that the actress will continue to hold physical custody of the children while Pitt will be allowed therapeutic visitations once in a while so that he can see the children. It also aligns with a previous agreement that Pitt would be subjected to a random drug test every four months.

“Originally, Pitt had volunteered to do the drug and alcohol testing himself. But now that a judge has signed off on these docs, it has become mandatory and cannot be reversed without another court filing,” another source stated.

Pitt will continue to have therapeutic visits with the children though the documents also state that the visitations will be determined by a psychologist. According to one of the sources, Pitt has not seen the children without the presence of a psychologist since the incident with his eldest son on the private plane. The source also adds that Angelina has been with the children from the time the incident took place to make sure that they recover from the separation of their parents. It also happened while she was making a film, but she put everything on hold so that she could be with the kids.

It is not clear whether Pitt will be allowed to spend time with the children during the holiday season. The psychiatrist is not supposed to force the visitations, according to the custody deal. Mindel stated that the visitations would be uncomfortable for Pitt because he will be supervised on how to deal with the children and people generally don’t like to be supervised. As for Jolie’s court filing, it does not offer any changes from her previous custody agreement with Brad.
