Seth Green To Guest Star On ‘How I Met Your Mother’

Exciting news for Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans. It looks like there’s going to be a mini reunion on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Seth Green, who played Alyson Hannigan’s love interest Oz on the WB vampire series, has signed on for a brief stint on How I Met Your Mother. During the teen show’s run, Hannigan played Willow for the six years.

On How I Met Your Mother Green will guest star as Daryl LaCoutre, a college classmate of Lily’s (Hannigan), who saw the show’s power couple Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily as his best friends, even though they don’t seem to remember him at all. Still, the couple stumbles upon Green’s character nearly 12 years later living close to the fictional Wesleyan campus, and completely obsessing over the upcoming reunion.

This isn’t the first time How I Met Your Mother reunited former Buffy The Vampire Slayer alums. Alexis Denisof, who’s married to Alyson Hannigan in real life, played Wesley Wyndam-Pryce on Buffy and has appeared as a dippy anchorman Sandy Rivers in eight episodes throughout the series.

The initial announcement of Seth Green’s appearance was made on the Robot Chicken actor’s official Twitter page. His episode of How I Met Your Mother’s date is schedule to air just in time for the holiday season on December 10.
