Bella Hadid Praises The Weeknd Who Opens Up About His Drug Use

Ever since Bella Hadid and The Weeknd crossed paths at the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last week, fans have been wondering if the two will get back together.

The “Starboy” singer opened up in a new interview with The Guardian about his personal life and his history with drugs. The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, admitted that in the early days of his career, he often took drugs before working in the recording studio. He’s been managing his issue with drugs ever since.

“When I had nothing to do but make music, it was very heavy,” he said.

“Drugs were a crutch for me. There were songs on my first record [House of Balloons] that were seven minutes long, rambling – whatever thoughts I was having when I was under the influence at the time. I can’t see myself doing that now.”

While he’s abused hard drugs in the past, he admitted that he still uses drugs recreationally every so often. Sometimes being under the influence helps him make new music.

“I’ll be completely honest with you. The past couple of albums, I do get back to that,” he said.

“Even on this new album [Starboy]. You have writer’s block. And sometimes you’re like, ‘I can’t do this sober.'”

While The Weeknd didn’t mention Bella Hadid in the article, he did admit that he has a complex relationship with women, which is why most of his music is so dark.

“Uh. Yeah. I mean… in life.. what relationship is easy?” he added.

The exes last crossed paths on the Victoria’s Secret runway on Wednesday, Nov. 30 when Bella walked and The Weeknd performed. Though their brief moment appeared awkward to most, the two shared a special moment after the show, according to Hollywood Life. Bella gave a shout-out to her ex-boyfriend on Instagram, leading fans to believe they’re getting back together.

“Thank you @theweeknd for being the best and most incredible performer on the planet,” she wrote in the caption.

“You KILLED it, as always.”

She posted the above photo to Instagram on Dec. 1, after the show. Hadid also included the heart-eyed emoji when she gave a shout-out to the Weeknd. After Hadid and The Weeknd were reunited for their gig in Paris, it was reported that the two are still in touch and are still in love with one another. The on-and-off couple reportedly split due to their conflicting schedules, although it looks like they ended up in the same place at the same time last week.

“Bella and The Weeknd have been talking again. The Weeknd sent Bella something special to her room to wish her luck on her big day. He also spoke and texted her today and throughout these past few days in Paris. They are on great terms – but not back together but still talking and are still in love with each other. They are looking forward to doing the show together!”

In addition, Bella quashed the rumors to E! News that she and The Weeknd have bad blood between them. She told the news outlet that they support each other.

“This is his second year performing, and I think he’s going to kill it. There is no awkwardness. He is my best friend, and I am excited because I am walking during his performance.”

The Weeknd has always been supportive of Bella and her career, and she’s always felt the same way about them. This comes after Bella was spotted partying with her ex at the after-party at the Pavillon Etoile, reports the Daily Mail. Bella’s recent comments come after she was spotted looking at a photo of her and the musician kissing while she was jetting to the Grand Palais with her fellow Victoria’s Secret Angels on Sunday. The intimate moment was captured by fellow model Kelly Gale, who shared a Snapchat clip from her seat behind Bella on the flight.
