Lake County, FL – Law enforcement officials are searching for a group of vandals who apparently set fire to a Vietnam veteran’s lawn, which was filled with Romney campaign signs before they were torched.

More than a dozen Romney campaign signs and American flags were burned at the DuPont Circle home of William Overbay, and the words “Obama for life,” were painted on his driveway, reports ClickOrlando.

“This is the first thing I saw was this sign painted on my driveway,” Overbay said. “To give that many years for my country and to see it desecrated in such a despicable way angers me. We have freedom of speech and to desecrate any kind of signs is absolutely despicable and a violation of the constitution of the United States.”

Police have no suspects, and Overbay vows to have the signs replaced before Election Day.

Florida isn’t the only state where election paraphernalia has been subjected to vandalism. Texas has specifically played host to a number of political vandalism incidents lately, with an Obama sign being shot up in Lubbock, while others reportedly have been vandalized with the “N-word” in other parts of the state.

Romney’s signs are easy targets as well, with so many being stolen that local campaign offices have nearly run out.

One Texas judge warned that civil war could break out if President Obama is re-elected, notes MSN. Indeed, vandalism and violence are at an all-time high this election cycle, as are sore subjects like racism and class envy being the focal points of many of these incidents.

Who can forget the lynched Obama effigies across the country these past few months?
