Kanye West Meltdown Blamed On His Meds – Was Yeezy Taking His Prescriptions Wrong?

Kanye West has finally been released from the hospital after a lengthy stay. The rapper suffered from a psychological breakdown that mostly took place on stage during the now-cancelled Saint Pablo tour. With Yeezy back home in recovery, everyone wants to know why the rapper fell apart the way that he did. One of the most recent claims is that Kanye needs medication and that after Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery, Kanye stopped taking his pills the way that they were prescribed, leading to the epic breakdown that threatens to ruin his rap career.

TMZ said that Kanye has been taking prescription medication for quite some time. However, they claim that with Kim Kardashian’s recent Paris robbery and all the stress that went along with it, Kanye may have stopped taking his pills the way they were prescribed and that led to his mental downward spiral that hit a fever pitch during his Sacramento concert weeks ago.

According to the report, Kanye has been taking prescription medication for a while now and he even rapped about taking Lexapro in one of his songs. The problem is, according to multiple sources, Kanye wasn’t taking his meds as prescribed and anyone who has taken any sort of psych meds can tell you, they have to be taken regularly and as prescribed in order for them to work.

Apparently, Kanye West stays pretty stable as long as he’s taking his medication but, as we saw with his latest meltdown, the rapper doesn’t do so well when he isn’t medicated. The report doesn’t state whether Kanye stopped taking his medication altogether or if he just started taking it erratically. What has been reported, is that after the Kim Kardashian Paris robbery, Kanye hasn’t been himself and much of that has recently been blamed on his meds, or lack thereof.

Us Weekly reported that in the wake of Kim’s robbery, Kanye has been having nightmares. The lack of sleep was also a factor in his mental health crisis.

“He’s been shaken up ever since the robbery in Paris. It did a number on him as much as Kim,” a source told Us Weekly. “The mere thought that anything could happen to her sent him in a tailspin.”

Now that Kanye is out of the hospital, he isn’t being monitored around the clock anymore. However, it was reported that he is in outpatient treatment and that West is currently taking medication and is recovering from his most recent break down. While it is ultimately up to him to take the correct dosage at the correct time, certainly Kim Kardashian will be keeping an eye out to make sure that Kanye continues to take his meds the way that he is supposed to take them.

As previously reported, Kanye West was hospitalized on November 21 after his doctor called for emergency services from his personal trainer’s home. Kanye reportedly had an altercation with someone inside the home, causing both the trainer and his doctor to become concerned. When calling 911 for help, the doctor told emergency dispatch to send police and an ambulance because he feared that Kanye might hurt himself and that he wasn’t going to go voluntarily.

Soon after learning that Kanye West was hospitalized, the rest of his Saint Pablo tour was canceled and future touring plans for the rapper are on hold. While many have questioned the authenticity of Kanye’s meltdown and mental health crisis, it’s become pretty clear that what the rapper is going through is very real. Hopefully, this most recent hospitalization is enough that he will take his mental health seriously and take medication as prescribed as well as rest and relax often enough to not go through another similar emergency.
