‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 6 Winter Finale Spoilers: What Happens To Savior In Episode 10? [Spoilers]

Once Upon a Time Season 6 winter finale, titled “Wish You Were Here,” might alter the course of the fairy tales forever, as Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) goes missing from Storybrooke. She disappears soon after one of her wishes — to have never become the Savior — is granted by the new genie, Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz). After disappearing from Storybrooke, the Savior becomes a princess in an alternate reality in Episode 10 of Once Upon a Time Season 6.

When the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) learns that Emma and her friends possess a sword capable of defeating her, without hurting her alter-ego Regina (also Parrilla), she steals the magic lamp from Jasmine (Karen David). The Evil Queen Conjures Aladdin and asks him to grant Emma’s wish.

In one of the sneak peeks of Once Upon a Time Season 6, the Evil Queen is seen telling Aladdin that she believes she has three wishes. Aladdin tells her to go ahead and wish, adding that they always come with a price. The Evil Queen turns the table on Emma, Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) and David (Josh Dallas) by telling Aladdin to grant someone else’s wish and not hers. The preview of Episode 10 shows Emma confiding to Aladdin that she wished she was not the Savior, and it is this conversation that the Evil Queen overheard.

“… I’m going to give you [Emma] something — something you’ve always wanted. Something you confided about to Aladdin…. You wished you weren’t the Savior. So that’s exactly what you’re going to get. Genie of Agrabah, I wish that Emma Swan’s wish to have never been the Savior be granted.”

The Evil Queen’s “intriguing wish” in Once Upon a Time Season 6 winter finale turns Emma into a princess, executive producer Edward Kitsis said to Entertainment Weekly (EW). He also said that Episode 10 shows the alternate reality — what would Emma’s life be like if she had grown up in a fairy tale and there was no curse.

Kitsis described the alternate reality as a villain-free world, and as the baddies were vanquished, peace and joy got to flourish.

“It is a world where there’s no villains. The big villain was defeated, there was no curse, and peace and joy got to flourish.”

With Emma living the princess life in a serene alternate reality, and Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) sleeping, David teams up with Hook and Henry (Jared Gilmore) to keep the Evil Queen at bay in Storybrooke, according to the synopsis of “Wish You Were Here.”

And, as wishes cannot be undone, it seems that Hook and Emma’s separation is in the cards for the winter finale. Co-creator Adam Horowitz has refused to confirm whether they are together or not in Episode 10. He, however, told TV Line that Hook and Emma will embark on an “epic adventure” in the second half of Once Upon a Time Season 6.

“Whether Emma and Hook are together in the winter finale isn’t the question to be asking. The real question to ask is: Will the two of them be embarking on an epic adventure filled with romance, danger and passion in the second half of the season? And the answer is… yes.”

The second half of Once Upon a Time Season 6 will also explore Emma’s grim fate. Like all Saviors, she, too, will have to face her mortality. She is fated to die, Kitsis told EW.

“Emma is fated to die and that is the destiny that we learned all Saviors face. That is going to be coming to a head — it is going to resonate in the finale and it will definitely come to a head in the next half of the season when we return.”

Once Upon a Time Season 6 winter finale, “Wish You Were Here,” airs Sunday, December 4 on ABC.
